A couple of days ago, NVIDIA released a new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the NVIDIA GeForce 531.61 WHQL driver adds support for the RTX 4070, and fixes some game issues. The drivers also introduce official support for RTX Video Super Resolution, the new CUDA 12.1 compute API. The drivers also increases the number of concurrent NVENC sessions from 3 to 5 on RTX 40-series GPUs. Among the issues fixed with this release are game stability issues with "Assassin's Creed Origins when using the older 531.18 drivers; random game crashes noticed on RTX 30-series GPUs in "The Last of Us: Part 1," and black screen/hang noticed in the shader compile screen of "Hogwarts Legacy."

Ryzen 7 7800x3d vs 13900k vs 5800x3d best gaming cpu ? The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is a desktop processor with 8 cores, launched in January 2023, at an MSRP of $449. It is part of the Ryzen 7 lineup, using the Zen 4 (Raphael) architecture with Socket AM5. Thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) the core-count is effectively doubled, to 16 threads. Ryzen 7 7800X3D has 96MB of L3 cache and operates at 4.4 GHz by default, but can boost up to 5 GHz, depending on the workload. AMD is making the Ryzen 7 7800X3D on a 5 nm production node using 6,570 million transistors. The silicon die of the chip is not fabricated at AMD, but at the foundry of TSMC. You may freely adjust the unlocked multiplier on Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which simplifies overclocking greatly, as you can easily dial in any overclocking frequency. With a TDP of 120 W, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D consumes a lot of power, so good cooling is definitely needed. AMD's processor supports DDR5 memory with a dual-channel interface. The highest officially supported memory speed is 5200 MHz, but with overclocking (and the right memory modules) you can go even higher. ECC memory is supported, too, which is an important capability for mission-critical systems, to avoid data corruption. For communication with other components in the system, Ryzen 7 7800X3D uses a PCI-Express Gen 5 connection. This processor features the Radeon Graphics integrated graphics solution.

So it looks like the 3070/Ti will be a bargain for 1080p gaming in the next few years. Either way, it's plenty good enough for 1080p gaming for me. Won't be buying any new graphics now, as someone already posted here in the forum, I play more older games anyway.

This review looks at AMD's new Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU, integrating their "V-Cache" (or vertical cache) on top of a single-CCD configuration adjacent the I/O die. Unlike the AMD R9 7950X3D and AMD R9 7900X3D, this only contains one 8-core chiplet, and so should actually have some advantages in gaming scenarios when frequency isn't the main concern. Those advantages primarily show vs. the 7900X3D, which ends up a 6-core CPU (with SMT) when using the core parking feature to reduce cross-CCD latency on cache hits. Our review today primarily benchmarks the R 7 7800X3D vs. the i7-13700K, R9 7900X3D, R7 5800X3D, and 7950X3D.

NVIDIA has released its newest Hotfix Driver 531.58 which is based on the latest Game Ready Driver 531.41, but brings fixes for The Last of Us Part 1 game that may randomly crash on GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards. It also fixes stability issues in Assassin's Creed Origins game, and corruption issues when FXAA is enabled in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

The specs and price for the RTX 4070 have apparently leaked, and the MSRP price, if accurate, is WAY lower than a previous leak suggested. So did Nvidia TRICK everyone by leaking the more expensive price deliberately? We examine not only the leaked RTX 4070 pricing, but also the hardware specifications which have leaked for the RTX 40 GPU. If the specs are accurate, how how will the RTX 4070 perform not only in gaming and ray tracing performance, (and of course in DLSS), but how it will compete against the RDNA 3 RX 7000 mid range graphics cards. We also have some AMD leaks, with a Zen 4 3D benchmark, specifically for the Ryzen 78000X 3D. We examine the Ryzen 7800X3D benchmark, and how the Zen 4 V-Cache processor competes in this early performance benchmark leak against not only the rest of the Zen 4 stack of CPUs, but of course against Intel's 13th gen Raptor Lake flagship - the 13900K. We also have a benchmark for the RDNA 3 RX 7600M XT, which of course is part of the RDNA 3 mobile lineup.

This rant video is largely stream-of-conscious complaint dumping about motherboard prices and the migration of useful features into ever-higher price classes, while less useful bloat pushes out the functionality. Although this may seem excessive for debug displays, it's an issue we genuinely care about here and firmly believe should be higher priority on motherboard part lists. With how difficult it can be to hit XMP on some of the modern kits, CPUs, and boards, a debug display is more useful than ever -- but they're also just good at eliminating doubt on which component may be failing. After GN recently had to shop for motherboards for test benches, we put together this rant to just get our complaints off the chest. Also, there weren't any clouds to yell at today.
