In case you missed it, the iconic FPS that started it all, DOOM, just turned 30. NVIDIA is celebrating this piece of gaming history with the DOOM 30th Anniversary Sweepstakes. NVIDIA is celebrating a milestone of its own, with RTX 500—that's 500 games and counting that are part of the NVIDIA RTX ecosystem that includes RTX ray tracing, DLSS, Reflex, and other major innovations by NVIDIA in the PC gaming space. To participate in the DOOM 30 Sweepstakes, all you need to do is reply to NVIDIA's post on X (formerly Twitter), with the hashtags #DOOM30 and #RTX500, to enter. Up for grabs is a special NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition graphics card with a DOOM 30 backplate, which NVIDIA values at its latest baseline prize of $1,389. NVIDIA Releases GeForce 546.33 WHQL Game Ready Drivers - tech

NVIDIA has released its latest GeForce 546.33 WHQL Game Ready Drivers, bringing Game Ready support and optimizations for The Finals, and Squad, games as well as specific DLSS optimizations for Fortnite Chapter 5. The new drivers also add GeForce Experience support for six new games. In addition addition to these game-specific optimizations, the latest drivers also fix the issue seen with Discord where colors may appear muted when streaming gameplay, and the general bug where a new NVIDIA icon is created in the system tray each time a user switch happens in Windows.

Microsoft is now offering extended support options for Windows 10 PCs, for a price. When the end-of-support deadline rolls around in October 2025, you'll need to pay to keep receiving security updates for your Windows 10 PC. But Microsoft won't say how much those updates will cost.

Intel released a series of slides in a presentation attacking AMD -- and bizarrely, it was an actually publicly available presentation. The bitter, out-of-character attack reeks of the glue era of Intel. We're not sure why the company is talking about "snake oil," showing used car salesmen, and contradicting its position of "latest is best" and "latest doesn't matter" in the same deck, but it is. We were in San Francisco when this deck dropped, so we made the most of our time and wandered the streets while making a scene ranting about Intel.

This video looks back at our bug list from the launch of Intel's Arc GPUs and revisits the list of dozens of issues to see what's been fixed in the past year. We already know that Intel's Arc drivers have drastically improved gaming performance (generally across the board), and that was its number 1 priority, but it also helps to dig back through the various Arc Control and Command Center applications and other facets of Arc for old bugs. We were happy to find that a large percentage of them were simply resolved.

We're recapping the best & worst GPUs in 2023, which weirdly includes many GPUs from 2019 and 2020 -- but they're still around and price drops have made them relevant. This graphics card round-up is focused on a gaming perspective, which means we're considering primarily the rasterization and ray tracing performance, with some discussion about drivers as it pertains to Intel's Arc GPUs. The topics include video cards in the $100 to $200 price range, $200 to $300, $300 to $400, $400 to $750, and then $750 and up, where the RTX 4090 has sadly received price increases lately. The most relevant GPUs to discussion are the Intel Arc A750, AMD's RX 6650 XT, RX 6700 XT & 6750 XT, and the RX 7900 XT (though we discuss some others, like the 6800 series), while NVIDIA's currently are the RTX 4090 (especially for professional users) and RTX 4070, with some discussion of the RTX 4070 Ti (although hesitation everywhere between the 4060 Ti and 4090 due to impending refreshes that may affect value soon).

so this is a very interesting video, I have in my PC Intel Core i5-9600K, 32GB RAM, 1TB Samsung SSD 980 NVMe and NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3070 and so far I really don't plan to change it at all! The PC runs beautifully, doesn't consume much power, doesn't heat up...that's exactly what I need in my office.
Although it's true that I've been building a PC with AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D for a client and I was very pleasantly surprised. Meanwhile the new Intel processors are unsaleable for me. So if my own PC would go away now, I would definitely choose AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D.
