The ROG Zephyrus G16 was supposed to be the best 16" gaming laptop of 2024. That's what I had hoped because of the Zephyrus G16's battery life, claimed performance, size and weight. Especially when it comes to performance versus the Blade 16 from 2024. But this G16 review proves you can have all the specs in the world but still fail.

There are no signs of Microsoft backing down on injecting more ads into Windows 11. If the recent changes, like app ads in the Start menu, are getting under your skin and going back to Windows 10 is not an option, third-party apps and tweakers could make your Windows 11 experience less frustrating. OFGB, which stands for Oh F**k Go Back, is a new app that aims to give its customers a simple, easy-to-use method to turn off ads in Windows 11. OFGB uses Windows Registry to turn off ads across the operating system. Those include the following: File Explorer Ads, Lock Screen Tips and Ads, Settings Ads, General Tips and Ads, "Finish Setup" Ads, "Welcome Experience" Ads, Personalized Ads, "Tailored Experiences", Start menu Ads.

Winpilot has also received a new update and with the latest version, the says the aim is to remove ads on Windows 11 with a few toggles. The latest update also relies on the same principle that Winpilot works on, to make it easy to remove such bloat, similar to how the previous versions have done so for AI-related bloatware. You can download it from its GitHub page if you want to try it out. As always, do bear in mind that this is a third-party software which may adversely affect your system too.

I've been building computers for over 35 years, it's a choice, air cooling is easy and better for longevity, AIO Liquid Cooling are really cheap now, so it's more about who wants what and also there's a lot of factors e.g. what environment the computer will run in. If someone has up to 35 degrees Celsius at home in the summer, then water cooling is probably really safer or even better invest in some air conditioning :-) But overall, I always prefer function over form!

AMD has released a new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the AMD Adrenalin Edition 24.4.1 driver adds game support for Manor Lords, and improves performance in Helldivers 2. It’s also worth noting that this new driver expands HYPR-Tune support for Nightingale and Skulls and Bones. Moreover, it expands the Vulkan Extensions support. Not only that but it brings support and optimizations for 7.1.0 & 7.1.1 versions of Topaz Gigapixel AI application with new “Recovery” and “Low Resolution” AI upscaling features. This driver also packs a number of game fixes. For instance, it resolves an application crash that could occur in Lords of the Fallen. It also addresses some artifacts that could appear in SnowRunner, as well as some rainbow-like artifacts that could occur in Horizon: Forbidden West. Overwatch 2 should also be more stable now when using Radeon Boost on Radeon RX 6000 and above.

NVIDIA today released the latest GeForce 552.22 WHQL drivers. These come Game Ready for "Manor Lords," and "No Rest for the Wicked." For "Manor Lords," which goes live on April 26, the drivers add not just day-zero optimization, but also support for DLSS 2. The drivers also fix a couple of bugs, notably, stability issues for PUBG seen in extended gameplay sessions on Intel 12th Gen Core platforms. A bug that caused RTX 20-series and GTX 10-series GPUs to freeze with Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling and SLI enabled has been fixed. A system crash with bug-check on machines with HTC Vive Pro 2 and multi-displays has been fixed.
