NASCAR Heat a new realistic driving simulator developed by Monster Games (maybe you remember Viper Racing, MG was founded by Rich Garcia - the first employee at Papyrus) and Blue Fang Games (BFG was founded by Adam Levesque, John Wheeler, and Lou Catanzaro - the producer, lead engineer, and lead artist respectively for Papyrus' NASCAR titles). The game includes a single race or up to four championship seasons with different driving physics (normal and expert), different AI settings (Easy, Novice, Medium, Hard, Pro, Custom), 30 of the most recognized NASCAR drivers, 19 Winston Cup tracks, rate of tire wear and length of the race. After each race is completed, you have the option of ending the race or viewing the replay. Also, the results of the race are shown afterwards. You will also get a log of all of your laps during the race and the current records (best laps and average race speeds) at the track of how you been doing. NASCAR Heat has a brand new 3D-physics engine (developed by Papyrus founder Dave Kaemmer) which allows for such things as body rolls, the ability to get airborne and tires that spin and lock up. NASCAR Heat has several modes of resolutions: 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768 and 1024x1280 but if your video card has less than 16MB of memory, you will not be able to go past 800x600 because amount of textures. Despite of hardware requiments, the game looks very good and fans of the series are going to be amazed at just how much better it looks than NASCAR 3.
