GTA 6 Release Rumours and News () 11:13 PM CEST - Oct,07 2020
If you are a fan of Grand Theft Auto series of video games, you are going to love the new tease from developer Rockstar Games.
That Grand Theft Auto 6 is on its way, and not too far off from release, is no longer a rumor but a fact. What we do not know yet is the exact date, but this should not deter you from getting excited about the next iteration of the video game.
“One of The Most Anticipated Games of All Time”?
GTA 6 may be one of the most highly anticipated video games of all time. It is for a good reason.
Its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto V, turned out to be a massive success, generating over $815 million in revenue within 24 hours of release. In total, the Take-two Interactive game available on various platforms sold over 12 million copies!
Rumors of Grand Theft Auto 6 have persisted the whole year. However, the official trailer is the first confirmation that the rumors were true. The development has led many to want to know what new features the game will bring, and exactly when can they get it?
Expect More Detail, More Action, More Realism
One of the reasons why the Grand Theft Auto series of video games has been so successful is its consistency in detail improvement. Ever since the first Grand Theft Auto was released in 1997 to the current Grand Theft Auto V, the game has been a chronology of technological advancements in video gaming.
The stories got better, the game became more immersive, and detail always better than the previous one. For instance, interiors of buildings and cars have gotten better with each release, and the realism of the free world has become more realistic.
It will be interesting to see what new features get added. Like with GTA 5 they added land casinos which were popular, maybe now they might add online casinos so you can play on social poker apps like Pokio from your GTA mobile.
A New Story in a New World?
In April, popular leaker and GTA fan Liberty93 claimed that the Grand Theft Auto 6 story was complete. A GTA insider TezFunz2 followed up the claim with more details about the game. He said that the new world in Grand Theft Auto may be more significant than any game ever released and that the development project was 'definitely big.'
Fans have set very high expectations of the game, and Rockstar Games cannot afford to disappoint. In line with the previous games' history, GTA 6 will have a new story with a whole new set of characters.
However, it is expected the game will be as close in gameplay as the present world in which we live. After all, GTA is an action-adventure game, and the focus will be on the action and the adventure.
Release Still Far Off
Despite the increasing excitement and frequency of leaks and rumors, Grand Theft Auto 6 is seemingly still far off. Journalist Jason Schreier, who reported on the problems at Rockstar Games, says that the game may be released sometime in 2022 to 2023.
In a tweet back in April, he said that the next GTA is still far off as the developer dealt with various in-house crunches that may cause even further delays. The report can only mean one thing: we will be treated to many more leaks, rumors, and hearsays before Grand Theft Auto actually hits the shelves.
Fan Expectations and Release Platforms
When it was released, GTA V was a game changer. It set the bar for video games so high that very few games have come close to to date. Fans and leakers on various social media platforms, blogs, and forums have treated us to many 'leaks,' most of which we expect to see.
One Redditor noted that the cars on the new GTA would have very realistic destruction capacity and would take damage better than those in GTA V. This, of course, is expected. Still, the mechanics and physics will be fascinating to see in action.
Another enthusiast opined that the missions in GTA 6 would be a lot more non-linear than in previous games. Should this be the case, the missions will most likely have no 'Mission Failed' termination point – unless the player gets wasted.
Conclusion
If you played and loved GTA 5, there is a good chance you have high expectations of GTA 6. Perhaps the only confirmation we have at this point, besides the fact that the game is indeed coming, is that it will be available on all three major platforms on release: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
