Giants: Citizen Kabuto is bizarre 1st/3rd-action shooter developed by Planet Moon Studios (Created by the team behind MDK and Earthworm Jim) The game combines 3D arcade action, strategy, stunning graphics and a wicked sense of humor to create an entirely original title. Giants: Citizen Kabuto's action is set on the Island, a planetoid careering through space. It is covered with 24 lush, beautiful islands and brilliant azure seas and is at least a temporary home to numerous strange creatures, including the game's 3 playable races. First, there are the Meccs, who were swallowed by a giant space fish while heading to a vacation planet and then spontaneously defecated onto the Island - really cool holidays:))) Meccs have a full range of traditional shooter weaponry such as machine guns, missiles, sniper rifles, grenades. He is fighter you know? Well, but what I definitely like is the second race - sexy Delphi, who was genetically created by Queen Sappho to be the purest form of Sea Reaper. Her arsenal includes visually stunning spells and a plenty of enchanted bows and arrows. Only I still don't know why she still saying   "I have no sister " :)) Last of the playable characters is the really cool/original looking Kabuto - giant, though he's kind of boring to play. As Kabuto you can pick up any lifeform and eat it, use it as a projectile or impale it on one of your many horns for later. The stunning graphics featured in Giants: Citizen Kabuto simply bewitched me. When I've started to play, I thought it's another stupid shooter, but then I've played almost 30 hours nonstop :) The game has unique art style, highly detailed characters and expansive environments were unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. Giants takes the player to beautiful and surreal worlds using a color scheme for its landscapes that is a major departure from other games and utilizes many new 3D enhancements like hardware transform and lighting, bump mapping, hi-res 32 bit textures, inverse kinematics, the borjoyzee physics engine and animation blending. I've heard that the designers on this project created islands consisting of more then 30,000 polygons and most of the creatures have about 2,000 plus polygons each [wow]. How I said the world of Giants is very colorful and full of wide open spaces, the viewpoint changes depending on which character is selected, enhancing various styles of play. Perspectives include 1st person, 3rd person, and "Kabuto-Cam" (view from inside Kabuto's mouth looking out). Just eye candy, or is there more to this giant? Fortunately YES, otherwise I coudn't play it so many hours! :) Giants: Citizen Kabuto single-player is an action game first and foremost, with a bit of RTS and some racing game as well. Certainly the action will very depending on which of the three characters you end up controlling - it's almost like three different games. With Meccs you will play more like hit-and-run, with Delphi's levels have the most base-building and all the racing and with Kabuto you can comfortable clear whole levels of hundreds of enemies by smashing, crushing or gobbling them down the hatch :) I had plenty of fun with this game, though some levels were pretty difficult (such a the last jetski race). The game is also too much buggy, Interplay could release some patch! Anyway, Giants is definitely one of the best-looking games of the year and provides very juicy and enjoyable gameplay. It's absolutely cool game! :)
