Big Mutha Truckers is an arcade game that puts you behind the wheel of 20-ton, 60-foot-long big rigs as they cruise coast to coast and everywhere in between.You drive a semi-truck from town to town, picking up loads, and delivering them to other towns. You get challenged to races from other truckers. The goal is to make the most money in a 60 day period. There are some other goals in the game, but this is your main deal.

The idea of the game is that there is an elderly lady (known as Ma) who owns a highly successful trucking business in the USA, but sadly, age has taken its toll and so she decides to give the business to one of five lucky truckers. As one of Ma Jackson's four kids, its up to you to take your rig out on the road and make as much cash as possible - by any means possible - in sixty days. Beat your siblings and Ma will hand over the reins of the business to you. You make cash by trading various commodities in the five cities that make up Hick State County, by taking on special jobs (some legal, some not so legal), by wagering with other rival drivers and by causing as much chaos as possible! Sadly there are no traffic cops. You can just run rampant down the highway without any penalties from the law. You can run cars off the road, hit pedestrians, drive on the wrong side of the road, and all with a police car passing by, you can even hit a police car and nothing happens.

Each city has a great and individual look to it from the towering sky scrapers of Capital city to the bright neon lights of Greenback. There's no one way of getting to each place, its just you and the open road which you are free to roam, but you must watch your fuel and damage meters. Buy, sell, repair and refuel at cities then off for another day for more of the same. There is also a mission based mode which pits you in a variety of scenarios. For example, you have to drive through town, knocking over all the newspaper stands along the way. You'll be racing against a countdown timer, but each newspaper stand you destroy will award you with bonus time.

Big Mutha Truckers features four unique characters (Bobbie Sue, Cletus, Earl and Rawkus), each with their own personalities, driving styles and attributes, an arcade driving model with only three gears: high, low, and reverse, multiple types of upgrades to choose from, including fuel savers, better air brakes, bigger cargo holds, better shock absorbers, louder horns, and a rather large spoiler, many hidden bonuses and extras for players to uncover; and five different radio stations in the game, including country, rock, talk, and two dance stations.

Overall, Big Mutha Truckers is fairly interesting arcade racing game with some nice ideas. Unfortunately, repetitive game play and difficulties with the truck control brings it back to average overall score. For information try this playable demo (147MB) and visit the official homepage.
