I bet that most of us still remember the story of Alice In Wonderland from when we were a kid, and wondered at how magical and surreal this story was. So kind of game American McGee's Alice is? Alice is a 3rd-person action/adventure shooter utilizing an enhanced version of the Q3A game engine. The game will pull you in with it's fascinating storyline, nightmarish levels, evil atmosphere, bizarre worlds with atmospheric music and sounds. I bet no one will walk away from the game without admiration for what they've seen. Also twisted tunes and organic rhythms adds more depth to Alice's warped vision of terror. Simply the music is awesome, very morbid and dark, and the voice acting is probably the best I've ever heard in a game. You can guess who made such INFERNAL music - Chris Vrenna, a founding member of Nine Inch Nails!! Well back to the game, in addition American McGee's Alice offers duel to the death with psychotic renditions of characters from the original Alice adventures, including the Mad Hatter, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, and the Jabberwocky, plenty of creatures, including the Cheshire Cat and a frenetic White Rabbit, Queen's vicious minions, sadistic card guards, demonic fire imps, ravenous jabberspawn etc. Alice also includes some devious puzzles, from the labyrinthine Fortress of Doors to chicanery-filled Psychedelic Funhouse, a  collection of the most deadly toys-weapons ever imagined - roll nasty dice, hurl an exploding jack-in-the-box and much more. Levels has been created by renowned level designer American McGee - his impressive list of credits includes levels design for Doom II and the Quake series! The levels are excellent done, though they are very linear. But there were only a few times when I had to sit back and think about what I should be doing next. The same with solving the puzzles. That means is possible to play without cheats and it's always good. You can choose from four difficulty levels to play: Easy, Medium, Hard and Nightmare (yeah it's a bit like Doom/Quake), so if you want lots of enemies, choose Nightmare! :) Certainly don't expect much story here, this game is all about the jumping, not so much about the story or combat. Although I personally don't like 'Tomb Raider" style game much, this one is best what I've ever played.
