Marble Blast
(hx) 12:24 AM CET - Jan,06 2003

Would you like to try some really good arcade game on the PC? I can recommend you Marble Blast - arcade action game with simple yet addictive gameplay. In this game you race your marble through a rich cartoon landscape of moving platforms, dangerous hazards, treasures, and power up enhancements in an effort to complete each course in record time. The main aim in each level varies, sometimes you'll have to collect a set number of diamonds and other times you'll just need to proceed to the goal in the allotted time period. While the marble physics are quite fabulous, the main attraction is without a doubt, the fun and imaginative puzzles.

How I mentioned, there's the time limit, so you'll be spending most your time trying to finish your level as soon as possible. It's sometime pretty crazy. I remember the level that the player must complete in 30 seconds while grabbing all the gems. I crossed the finish line at 29.92 seconds after careening through the pit stop! Yeah that's why I like Marble Blast! :) Of course you must be pretty patient to try the same level again and again, but that still doesn't mean the game is frustrating, annoying or so.

Marble Blast features three modes of difficulty - there are Beginner Levels - tutorial designed for learning how to play Marble Blast, an Intermediate Levels - for those who don't like tutorials, and an Advanced Levels - for Marble Blast addicted gamers. The game has also an option to load "custom levels" created by Level Builder program. Overall, Marble Blast includes over 72 challenging levels suitable for players of any age. Is that worth $15? That's good question :) But I bet that anyone who like an addictive game play of the awesome 80´s arcade games will want this game. I recommend you to download and try the demo (8.8MB).

System requirements: Windows 98/SE/ME/2000/XP, Pentium II 400, 64 MB RAM, OpenGL or DirectX Compatible 3D Graphics Accelerator, DirectX compatible Soundcard, Internet required for download and registration.

snd: 3/5 - decent, very nice music&sounds, the same rolling effect is used on all surfaces
gfx: 3/5 - pretty good for this genre, runs pretty smoothly on most low-end machines, utilizes the Torque engine (Tribes), clumsy camera (I got dizzy and nauseous)
playability: 4/5 - addictive game play of the awesome 80´s arcade games, never becomes excessive or frustrating, three modes of difficulty, stable, polished, you can play homemade levels
genre: arcade
release: December 2002
developer: Monster Studios
publisher: Garage Games
Overall: 75%

You can if you hold one of the mouse buttons down, I think it's the right one.

You can also set the "free-look" camera mode on permanently by toggling the check box on the camera controls tab of the options dialog.

I agree with that last guy about the guy before that; he's a dumb-ass.

I'll throw my 2 cents in, too. < poolgfffffffguy is a dumd-ass. > Oh...and if you are going for the "Holier than thou" attitude, at least use proper spelling.

man he stupid

Goofyposted - Jul, 15 2004 - 20:14
Yeah, you're really a dumb-ass except that person that said the holier than thou spelled dumb wrong, (I can't spell worth shit either) but, dumb is spelled with a "b" its a great game, its hard tho.

Goofyposted - Jul, 15 2004 - 20:18
Dude, you are one hell of a dumb ass and the other dude, you spelled DUMB wrong. But the first dude is more of a dumb ass, because he prolly can't beat the game and that is why he wrote that.

cool game, but they should put something at the end, and whart about that custom option?

Willposted - Feb, 13 2006 - 05:14
I think you have to have Windows to access the custom option, and download custom levels from the internet. I always thought you had to win every level or get gold time on every level or something but I think it's just a download thing. Read the game description on this website here, I think it says.
