F1 World Grand Prix 2000 (F1WGP2K) simulates the 2000 F1 season and includes all official team cars & drivers as participating in the 2000 FIA Formula One World Championship Season, including all of the 2000 results data. There are two distinct modes of play: Arcade and Grand Prix. Arcade mode delivers fast-paced, instant action and provides players with a fully stylized "coin-op" experience in their own home. Grand Prix mode offers a full career mode whereby you progress through the season making tactical, career and managerial decisions. Arcade mode easily offers the most racing excitement, but suffers from several inconsistencies in handling physics and severely lacks in the computer AI department. Before you will able to play Grand Prix, you have to obtain a Super Licence. That means you must complete five various skills tests (The Grid Start, Overtaking and slipstreaming, Chicanes and braking, Cornering and braking, Full lap). F1WGP2K features advanced 3D engine, physics and car handling, some AI (though very stupid AI), quite realistic car damage (physical & mechanical) with collisions calculated in real time, variable weather effects, Coin-op inspired commentary (Arcade mode) and "Ship to Shore" radio system with pit manager (Grand Prix mode), TV style race presentation of on-screen data and race results. The game includes over 30 different tuning options and more than 20 reality parameters that can be altered, and technical research and development that adds depth to the gameplay and allows you to shape the team's fate (Grand Prix mode). 5 main areas of performance can be improved: Engine, Gearbox, Aerodynamics, Pit Crew & Brakes. It's quite good F1 racing for low-end F1 players, but I cannot say it's an excellent done F1 sim (Stupid AI in the game will probably disgust you).
