Blair Witch 3: The Elly Kedward Tale is yet again set in the town of Burkittsville, Maryland and the surrounding woods, this time recounting the events of 1786, when Elly Kedward was accused of witchcraft and banished from the Blair Township. You play the role of Jonathan Pyre, an ex-priest turned witch-hunter (it's still better job than deer-hunter ), who travels to the town of Blair to find the evil witch after hearing rumors of her mayhem. The game look just like the earlier Nocturne engine games in the series, only combat is a bit different. The game switches to an almost overhead view during combat, with a much more efficient auto-targeting feature than you get in either Blair Witch 1 or Blair Witch 2. The gameplay consists of running back and forth through the woods collecting a few talismans, artifacts and clues from the townsfolk. I can say it's simple, there aren't any difficult puzzles. Only it's a bit boring and too much linear. Blair Witch 3: The Elly Kedward Tale includes over 20 new characters, including demons, demon dogs, stick figures, and other enemies who will request your attention as you're walking to and from. In addition the game features spell-based combat system, with three distinct magic disciplines. After I've played previous two games of the Blair Witch trilogy, I didn't expect much new from Blair Witch 3: The Elly Kedward Tale. But now I must honestly say that Blair Witch 3: The Elly Kedward Tale looks to be worse than I've expected. I've started to play this game at least four times from the begin, because wasn't possible to get into day 2. Later I've discovered that game contains some nasty bugs (not only me had the same problem). After I've gave Styler her Spellbook, the game won't me go back to the woods, instead she wants the Spellbook again and again. If you will get the same problem, quit the game and start again from the begin. I've found more such nasty bugs later in the game :( I hope that Ritual will release some patch, because it seems that the game has been somehow shoddy. It is pity, because the game has nice story and wouldn't be so bad to play.
