But let me ask you: who would?
At least, I don't know anyone who would.

Had Linux on my MBP, but did not make me happy. Yeah it's working quite good. But what for?

If you don't do much stuff, linux is fine. Netflix, Amazon, Spotify, VLC, Gimp, LibreOffice, Thunderbird, KeePass, FileZilla, Netbeans are working well. Yeah Excel, that's a thing with VBA and macros. But even steam is running and supporting "some" games.

Probably better buy a PS5 than a new PC and enjoy gaming without wine and playonlinux debugging. ;)

Filezilla

It's not 2005, nobody uses that malware anymore.

I have xubuntu on a macbook pro and it gets much better performance than OSX or Windows, with the only issue being hibernate/sleep support is spotty.
Only reason for Windows today is games. Office is an unusable nightmare that is propped up only by corporate cock sucking and proprietary file formats.

FileZilla Secure, but thought we were talking about Linux and not the Win Setup Bundles. ;)

Anyways, I agree with performance, that's a reason. But even my 2015 MBP got Big Sur.
I'm no friend of Apple at all, but there are some things they do ok. Of course you could expect that with the price that comes with those products.

But I'm talking about the pre touch bar products, their new shit is annoying often too low quality for what you pay.

But no flamewars here. I use all three OS, each one has it's purpose, whereas Apple is probably to most less important and easiest to replace, if you are not completely sunken into their universe of gadgets and selflove.

For a MBA like hx uses it, linux is a perfect choice. :)
