ants have displayed their use of cheats in various YouTube videos. By using these cheats, they inject code into the game which modifies the original, which is a clear violation of copyright law, according to Epic Games. Even worse, Golden Modz also stands accused of selling cheats online through the websites goldengodz

how can he violate copyright law when he doesn't even have a copy of the game? See, that's a problem with partial distribution where game is on server and you pay to access it when you log on, but it's not your game. Even the account isn't yours, they reserve the right to do whatever the hell they want with it.

Was he an adult at least? (in legal terms)
lol
Epic did an epic fail already.
Did that mom counter-sue Epic for monitoring minors?

Actually, injecting code does not violate any copyrights actually.

Seems like yet another power demonstration attempt - to set a precedence, I suppose that they can reference in the future to milk people without actual trials.
They'll buy the jury and the judges and they're all fine, people get fucked as usual.
If they sued this guy for cheating in a multiplayer game, then I would not have any problem with this, whatsoever.

Hackers don't get sued because they injected code - they get sued because they stole data (or whatever they did that injected code).
Why do you think that is? Easy: if you can run injected code, then it means that there were no protection measures there in the first place (the code was crap to begin with). That's on them. But they can sue you for stealing data (or whatever else you did).

Too bad that the jury and the judges will be selected from people that don't understand this and will be easily bribed.
