I've not had a single problem with my OCZ SSD. I've had it for years. I'm not worried, but I will replace it soon with a biigger one and reuse it in another pc. |

I've been running an Intel SSD* since November 2010, seems to be ok so far. ....

I've got two SSDs.
one for the os and programs.
another for certain games.
Storage happens on a hdd and on a nas/dropbox. I don't trust SSD's since i can't scrape disks for data after a crash. |

Any smart person knows that SSDs are not for backups.
As such, I don't keep any data I need to worry about on any of those drives.
If you want to sleep well, you go with enterprise-grade tapes or redundant HDD arrays. I opted for the latter; 8x4TB RAID6.

That's pretty old news. You have not read the memo, did you?

Right. But any smart person would not use anything newer than 2.2.1.
There's just far too much spyware and such built in the newer releases.

Google has shot itself in the foot a few times already by following advice from it's so-called experts.
How about following the advice of people who are actually using it?
You're well on your way to becoming the next MS, lol

That may be. MS can thank itself for that with WinDOS 8.
The part I don't understand is: how's that gaming news? |

HX is now stealing my jokes.. re-apple/ms
As for SSD, I have all my stuff backed up on a WD external drive. I use SSD for my boot/windows. That's all. I only intend to replace it with a bigger and same speed SSD. I agree, only idiots could keep backups on a SSD.
Not to mention there are a lot of idiots who haven't a clue about how to keep a pc going properly. Problems could be overall overheating etc. Crap cables, poor powersupply, crap motherboard who knows. I saw that article and read a bit into it and it was like, ya whatever. |
