While I agree about free speech points, I don't agree with China pressuring US companies to suppress it. It is the said companies that went to China to make more money, not the other way around. If either party doesn't like it (we are talking about a lot of money here) they are free to stop dealing with each other. In this case, US companies are free to disengage from commerce with China, because China wont stop telling them to suppress certain speech if they want access to their market.

Quote:
As China amplifies its campaign of intimidation, you and your company must decide whether to look beyond the bottom line and promote American values -- like freedom of speech and thought -- or to give in to Beijing's demands in order to preserve market access. We urge you in the strongest possible terms to reconsider your decision with respect to Mr. Chung. You have the opportunity to reverse course. We urge you to take it.

Yea, stop making us look bad, we, the government (individuals from the government) have no stake in it, so go and stop making more money for yourself. We (the government. and individuals in it) will keep selling billions of dollars worth of weapons to the Middle East to fuel the perpetual war and misery. That's moral.

US does not negotiate with terrorists.
Why would it bend over backwards to wannabe tyrants?
