Blizzard:
Quote: | And we have core values that apply here: Think Globally; Lead Responsibly; and importantly, Every Voice Matters, encouraging everybody to share their point of view. |
Also Blizzard:
Quote: | Engaging in any act that, in Blizzard’s sole discretion, brings you into public disrepute, offends a portion or group of the public, or otherwise damages Blizzard image will result in removal from Grandmasters and reduction of the player’s prize total to $0 USD, in addition to other remedies which may be provided for under the Handbook and Blizzard’s Website Terms. |

I think it's funny they posted it Friday after 5pm. Like they don't want anyone to see it. This is the time organizations post things when they want it to fly under the radar. |

well he could have said anything else, as long it made sense, just not this BS that he said.
I have nothing against a company organizing something, setting rules and making contracts for people to sign, or not. The dude broke the contract, and to make things worse - there is a lot of money involved and Blizzard now gets to keep it.
If I were the guy making that statement that Friday 5 pm, I would have said simply "we don't care about politics and activism, it's in the contract. This was an e-sports event, it's about fun and competition, keep politics out of it. Guy broke contract, and that's that"
See, you don't even have to take a stance on Hong Kong events. How hard is that? |
