Yeah all the hardware companies are uninterested in supporting their old stuff. They want you to upgrade. It's all part of the game. Only an ignorant person would point the finger at Microsoft.

Win10 was already ahead of Win7 last year. And the OS stats are pretty on par year after year.

I wonder who paid for those statistics.
Take that with a grain of salt - it does not include offline PCs and all countries for sure...

Yeah, it was because they force-fed it to everyone who could not protect themselves from it.
When the dust settled, any sane (and tech-savvy enough) person uninstalled it and went back to Windows 7.

I wonder how Win10 fares these days though.
They got a lot of heat on privacy and SW not working last year.
I wonder if they fixed their shit by now...
Although I still don't feel any need to update; everything runs perfectly on Windows 7.
If ain't broken, don't fix it.

strongly depends on chipset/motherboard

for example, it's possible to install Windows 7 on i3-7100 + ASUS H110M-K

often you will need Windows 7 DVD (not USB stick) and PS/2 mouse Smile

7th and 8th Gen Processor only have USB Driver issue.

For 7th Gen Intel Processor, Download and install this USB Driver, The rest will work fine in everything.

For 8th and 9th Gen Intel Processor, Download and install this USB Driver, The rest will work fine in everything.

I saw a lot of win7 systems on i5/7 8xxx that's why I asked. I thought maybe AMD has a problem, because intel works fine.

I just installed that for my 4790K (sitting in a 9 Series chipset mobo), thanks.
But I think USB driver depends on the chipset, not the processor itself.

I haven't had a single problem with Windows 10. It's been rock solid since the day I installed it. I am done with Win 7, it looks like Windows 98 to me now. pukel
