What is driving so many players to cheat?

That's easy. Time.
They just want to get through the game to get it under their belt and move onto the next.
Why play it in the first place then?
There could be a number of reasons:
- They want a decent time killer, but not interested in the game itself. (shooters, typically)
- They are curious about the story, but do not care or want to bother with the actual gameplay. (rpgs, stealth and the like)
- They had starting playing the game normally but lost interest along the way, yet they don't want to leave it unfinished.
- They want to check off all the achievements.
- They want to brag "I have played that, too, of course","Oh, I had better or more of something", etc.
Makes total sense.
Then, there's that other cheater that we all despise: the ones that enjoy causing harm to others in multiplayer games for their own gain or amusement.

"What is driving so many players to cheat?"

Smile Funny you should ask, given that you push cheat commercials on site and all.... Smile

I've never supported cheating in online games.

Well, I get commercials in a form of article on main page, in between actual articles, that promote cheat engines, mainly "cheat happens".

I never said anything about your personal opinion about it. Smile

edit: maybe I should clarify:

I am not attacking you, I am just making an observation.
