oh whoopy,
Nvidia wins by a slight and probably unnoticable fraction.
I tested my ATI Radeon 9800Pro against my brothers' Nvidia GeforceFX 5900 Ultra 256MB in my machine so there is no advantage hardware-wise, since he has a far CPU & Memory/Dual Channel.
His Card only won by 5fps, which i wouldn't have noticed if i didn't have the fps showing on the screen.
So, in my opinion if you ain't fussy about getting the most fps in Doom 3, a 9800Pro is good enough.
The only game had a problem with was Farcry, but i personality thought it was a piece of crap. (just my opinion, so no flaming) |

well, everyone is entitled to their own opinions as long as they are civil about it.
I ain't picky about how much 3DMark2001 or 3DMark2003 points i get, well it is obvious, if your card can run the 'Mother Nature' test completely smooth and at 100+ fps then your card rules, but in the long run, if the game runs well, who cares if another companies' card gives you an additional 5-10fps??
My current card runs fine and i am sure it will run Half Life 2 pretty good too, since i was completely shocked how well my computer ran Doom III, it will run Half Life 2 more better since the game is optimized and recommended for ATI Radeon 9800 cards. (Pro & XT) |
