GSC Game World sent us some new and never-seen-before
screenshots from their arcade racing game HoveRace (working title). On these screens you can check out our in-house developed engine, used in the game. Also, take a closer look on the special fx on the shots. Here is a brief game description:
"HoveRace is futuristic arcade races on battle hovercraft. The gameplay combines engrossing race, with speeds pinning over 500 km/h, and intensive action, with various weapons, equipment and bonuses making the game pacey and gripping.
The game events take place amid a highly detailed and worked out sci-fi environment, where a player is to participate in hazardous competitions - HoveRace races.
Starting the game with a scanty amount of money, a player is to buy one of the available hovercraft, install the simplest equipment on it and then go for the first rounds. Victory in rounds brings player money to buy new equipment and weaponry (thus improving the parameters of his vehicle), or buy a new craft. In aggregate, there will be 20
kinds of vehicles available to player, including 4 secret ones, 12 kinds of weapons, including 2 secret ones, 14 kinds of equipment and 7 kinds of special devices available to player. The devices, such as accelerator, ram, regenerator, mines and more, provide player with
unique possibilities."

What's needed is a kick in the ass for the genre with more than just racing and blasting to checkpoints -- you need missions, sub-missions, choices, etc., to create a broader purpose for the player than just getting around the track. |
