Anachronox Preview - preview

   Gamespy has written a new preview of Anachronox, Ion Storm's upcoming Quake II engine powered RPG. When you first look at Anachronox, you can't help but see the similarities to console RPGs. "We have a similar feel to the SquareSoft RPGs," explains Mike McHale, producer at EIDOS Interactive. "We have a party based system with a really cool turn-based battle system. A lot of the spells and effects are reminiscent of SquareSoft games." Players control the game from a third-person perspective in a fully immersive 3D world. Watching it in motion left us speechless. The dark, underbelly world of Anachronox was not only brimming with life, but was dripping in personality. "You'll be able to interact with pretty much anybody or anything in Anachronox," says McHale. "A lot of the game involves investigation and snooping around." And speaking of sneaking around, who better to do it then the lead character in the game.
