Independence War 2's developer, Particle Systems, is aptly named. This U.K. firm sweats the tiniest of details. The original IW was a meticulously crafted, capital ship space sim with excellent graphics, infinite customizability, and a deep, engaging story driven by superb video cut-scenes. It featured realistic Newtonian physics and several layers of system controls from navigation and cargo to personnel and weapons. For the hard-core gamer who relishes micro-management, IW was a sure bet.
