Right now the game is extremely fast and extremely frantic. FireStarter is a twitch shooter. Story isn't the point. To deliver an extra bit of staying power, the game boasts some RPG elements and several characters with varying attributes that can be improved, assuming your kidneys aren't being eaten and passed around the table by some scary family of biomechanoid demon freaks, of course. By slaughtering the legions of virtual evil, you accrue points, which can be used to improve your character in one of three ways: health, armor, speed. Additionally, artifacts that provide extra spectacular feats and other special skills can be bought with these points.
