  • Sims: Vacation? - Although Electronic Arts hasn't made any official announcement, other sources have indicated that a new add-on for The Sims, EA's wildly popular virtual life game, is heading to stores in March. The new expansion, The Sims: Vacation, will let players take their sims to a number of different locations, including a beach, a mountain setting, and a wilderness camping area.
  • Final Fantasy XI - not free - SquareSoft has announced that its PlayOnline service will no longer incur a monthly fee. However, some of the products that will use the service, like the online RPG Final Fantasy XI, will still have its own monthly fees. Square's PlayOnline service is scheduled to begin this spring in Japan. The online network service lets registered users access e-mail, chat rooms, and games such as Final Fantasy XI and Tetra Master. The company plans to announce further details sometime next month.
  • Heroes IV and Might & Magic IX on March 29th - 3DO Europe updated its release list today, and confirmed that both Heroes of Might IV and Might and Magic IX should be available on March 29th.
  • PlayStation Pirates Apprehended - The ELSPA Crime Unit, in cooperation with UK authorities have recently nabbed two software pirates dealing illegally copied PlayStation software. Keith Quarterman and John Heath were sentenced to 12 and 30 months in prison respectively in separate cases stemming from selling counterfeit PlayStation games. Both men forfeited a substantial amount of equipment and software as a result of the indictments. Mr. Heath had in his posession 600 PlayStation titles which he was using to mass produce counterfeit PlayStation software.
