Civilization III Patch v1.16f - patch

Firaxis Games has released a patch v1.16f (7.3MB) for
their recently released turn-based historical strategy game Civilization III.
The patch adds an ini file setting, Refresh for those who has monitor or frequency
problems and improves interface,editor etc.
Update: Seems the first Civilization patch wasn't OK, so download this CORRECT
patch here if you downloaded the patch before 10:15 PM EST! (mirror2)
IT WORKS! I just uninstalled Civ3, reinstalled the game, and installed the new patch. I am very happy to report that the F keys no longer crash the game and the diplomacy advisor screen seems to work fine on my Win2K Pro. :) Several forum users have confirmed that the new version of the patch works fine on their Win XP."

I insert the CD and choose start and then after the splash screen is gone, I get a message "Please insert Civillization III disk into CD drive". What did the engineers at Actvision do?
May be they should be included as the Moronic race in the next release!
The game is great but this patch sucks... |

As I said, bugs never end. Give the few more hours and they will come up with more incompatabilities.
Their patches end with "f", I wonder if it stands for the F word? |

I, however, use Adaware to remove the spyware from my PC. If they use one of the spyware stuff, then they are stupid. Anyway, I will have to reinstall the game again.
What ever they did is stupid and not sneaky. :) |

If you can bear the game as is, than I suggest staying cause your going to hate it afterwards. I think Fraxis was drunk making this patch. |

it doesnt work right. The game starts, but theres no interface inside. no text no buttons, just blank background images.
i installed civ3. patch 116f and overwrote with the .ace'd exe. |
