iOS 27 Supports iPhone 11 and All Newer Models - No Devices Dropped - tech|
| (hx) 10:05 PM CEST - Jun,08 2026 |
Apple announced iOS 27 during WWDC 2026 and confirmed it will support the same iPhones as iOS 26.
This means the iPhone 11 series (released in 2019) and iPhone SE (2nd generation and later) will still receive the major update.
iOS 27 developer beta is available now, with public beta coming this summer and full release in fall 2026.
While the OS runs on these older devices, some advanced Apple Intelligence features will still require newer hardware with more powerful chips and memory.
This decision gives millions of users another year of major software support.
In related news, Apple has finally confirmed that the long-awaited, more intelligent and contextual **Siri AI** will arrive with iOS 27 in fall 2026.
The upgraded Siri will understand context across multiple apps, handle follow-up questions, pull web knowledge, integrate with the Camera app for visual analysis, and feature a new dedicated Siri app across devices.
On Mac, it will work seamlessly through Spotlight, and it activates via "Hey Siri" or the side button with a beautiful Liquid Glass visual effect.
However, due to the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA), the new Siri AI and advanced Apple Intelligence features will **not launch in the European Union** at the same time.
Apple cited privacy and security concerns, as DMA rules would force deeper system access to third-party AI providers.
