- Cry of the Infected Demo - Cyborg Arm Games has released a
playable demo for
Cry of the
Infected, a first person shooter where an entire city of civilians has
been turned into zombies as a result of a biological warfare experiment gone
wrong.
- Maximum Football 2.0 Patch -
This update includes a few gameplay tweaks and some improvements in
recording statistics, especially with fumbles
- Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms Patches - TotalWar.com now offers
new patches for Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms, updating the US, UK
Gold, and European editions of the strategy game.
- SimCity Societies Patch v1.03.140 - The patch is available from
the
SimCity Societies Website, with what's new described
in these pdf patch notes. The 123MB update adds two more disasters, six
new events, new buildings, and also takes care of some more bugs.
- Warhammer 40,000 MMO Details -
CVG reports that The Warhammer 40,000 MMO will get bigger and include
all of the 40k Universes Races.
- C&C3: Kane's Wrath Desync Issues - On the official C&C3 forums,
APOC has posted the following concerning desync problems online.
- Commander In Chief Announced -
IGS
(Interactive Gaming Software), a privately funded interactive entertainment
publisher today announced it will release a unique geo-political simulator
game titled Commander In Chief. The game, which gives you the opportunity to
become a head of state or government and make decisions on its behalf, is
currently slated for retail release in the U.S. in Q2 2008 and will be
available for $39.99. Published by IGS, Commander In Chief offers a true,
realistic, and entertaining simulation of running a country's government and
taking part in economic, military, political, social, cultural, and foreign
affairs.
- Sword of the Stars: CE Goes Gold - Lighthouse Interactive and
developer Kerberos Productions today announced that the
Collector's Edition of their critically acclaimed 4X space strategy game
Sword of the Stars has gone gold. Sword of the Stars: Collector's
Edition, packed with exclusive bonus materials and a 150+ page paperback
novel, will begin hitting store shelves across the U.S. and Canada in May
2008
- Bionic Commando Rearmed Almost Done - The official
Bionic Commando Rearmed website has word: "The final date for completing
Bionic Commando Rearmed is closing in - we're stabilizing the game and
polishing all the details now, and soon this product of almost a year of
late nights and hard work will ship to a digital distribution channel near
you!"
- Quake 3 iPod Devs Unveil New Project - For those that may not
have seen it there's a rather
interesting
video out there of Quake 3 running on an iPod Touch, complete with
motion sensitive controls. You can actually find that video
here. The
team behind the project have just unveiled their new iPod Touch title -
Space Trader. The game is presently available for Windows, Mac, and Linux
platforms (complete with demos on the site) but the iPhone version is being
worked on to meet the launch of the iPhone software store coming in June.
- Age of Conan Freeplay Weekend -
From
April 18th to April 20th FunCom will be holding a freeplay PvP weekend
for its upcoming MMORPG -- Age of Conan.
- Earthworm Jim, Dark Alliance, Descent, and MDK Sequels -
This press release reveals that Interplay continues to pursue their
tenuous rights to create a Fallout MMORPG (story), and word is they are also
planning sequels to some of their franchises: Earthworm Jim, Dark Alliance,
Descent, and MDK:
- Burnout Paradise: Second update detailed, dated April 24 -
The update includes everything from from "high priority" fixes to the
"top 10 problems" identified by users. Fixes seem to be concentrated on
online functionality and some interesting balancing tweaks; for example,
Criterion explains, "We fixed Head-on Takedowns as these seemed generally
unfair and unrealistic
- Advertising Standards Authority Bans Kane & Lynch Ad in UK - The
Advertising Standards Authority has
outlawed an Eidos advertising campaign for Kane & Lynch. The body has
ordered Eidos not to print or broadcast the ads again, after upholding 26
complaints and calling the promotion 'graphic' and 'shocking'.
- Sega closes Sega Racing Studio - It is unclear at this time
what will happen to the 60-odd personnel employed at the studio
