Tuesday Reading - MW 2 Most Pirated Game? - briefly
(hx) 12:18 PM CET - Dec,29 2009 - Post a comment / read (5)
  • Modern Warfare 2 Most Pirated Game of 2009? - According to TorrentFreak, the most pirated game of 2009 was Modern Warfare 2. Are you honestly surprised by this news? Yes, 4.1 million pirated copies of the PC version were recorded. This is compared to the 970,000 pirated copies of the game recorded for the Xbox 360 version of the title
  • Borderlands Mad Moxxi Interview - Shacknews has an interview with Matthew Armstrong as he talks about The Borderlands 'Mad Moxxi' DLC. Topics include challenging buffed-up players, how the new Riot Mode areas differ from each other, the new bank, why the new bank is not a free addition and why the PC version is lagging. Another interview can be found on Gearboxity.
  • Command and Conquer coming to 'new medium' in early 2010 - Seems like there's "something" coming that will be related to the C&C franchise that will be fully revealed sometime in early 2010. Subscribers to the game's online newsletter got to see a teaser image which shows a comic book-like illustration of London being consumed by Tiberium
  • Tribulation Knights Revealed - Atomic Design Laboratory announced Tribulation Knights, an upcoming stealth/action game that will follow Christian themes based on interpretations of the Bible's book of Revelations. The game should be finished in a Q2 2010. (thanks BluesNews)
  • Assassin's Creed Fan Trailer - The clip runs a bit under ten minutes, and while the animation is okay, the art and voice-acting are top-notch. The short shows a rite of passage that is taken by Altair before he becomes one of the game's brotherhood of assassins.
  • Alien Arena v7.33 - The Alien Arena website offers a new version 7.33 of Alien Arena (changelog), COR Entertainment's freeware first-person shooter based on id Software's id Tech 2 engine (Quake 2).
  • Transport Tycoon Deluxe Beta - The OpenTTD Website has the first beta version 1.0.0 of OpenTTD, an OpenSource clone of Transport Tycoon Deluxe, the business sim designed by Chris Sawyer and released by MicroProse in 1995
  • Army of Two The 40th Day UK Travel Teaser - Army of Two: The 40th Day, lands in North America on January 12 and Europe on January 15. A downloadable demo of the cooperative action game is now available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a PSP demo due soon.
  • EGM to return in March 2010 - The mag's new version includes "a special code included in each newsstand copy that upgrades each reader's access to the new weekly interactive version of the magazine. This enhanced version of the digital publication, called EGM[i]: The Digital Magazine contains exclusive article extensions and original content throughout each issue."
  • China: Video games cause teen pregnancy, murder - China Central Television (CCTV) is apparently on a tear, correlating youth violence and youthful indiscretions with online game use. Yahoo News reports the latest program from the state news channel, titled Confession of a Murderer -- Focus on Pornography and Violence in Online Game (Part Two), features a boy in a Beijing juvenile prison serving life after killing five people over virtual goods. The piece also allegedly states that up to 80 percent of violent inmates in the prison became criminals because of online games. (thanks Joystiq)

No...I'm just surpirized it wasn't more (not because its good, but because if you cared about not being SCREWED).. I mean who would buy consolized scrap like MW2, single player storyline made of ass and getting shot in the face. I could live with the crap short singleplayer really..but not a multiplayer experience fuckup of epic backward proportions.

L4D2 offers better value for money in terms of hours you'll get out of it, even if the multiplayer setup is some weak assed console effort. And Valve only just got out the same shitty L4D sdk for v2...a month+ after they said they would have... and its still buggy slow crap without any improvements, still you'll see more new maps/campaigns than you will for MW2 and that will mean a longer lasting game.. or at least until L4D3 or is that L4D expansion 3.

see if the MP was worth it i would have bought the game, but its not so i got that shit for free played the SP and deleted it after.

next time don't screw pc gamers.

"...80 percent of violent inmates in the prison became criminals because of online games."

LOL. I bet they just asked how many of the inmates have ever played a game and then extrapolated from that. Although even that may be too scientific of an approach to have taken.

MW2 may be missing some pieces for PC but it still a hell of a fun game to play. They fixed and booted a lot of cheaters and I haven't seen any cheaters for quite some time. The missing dedicated being replaced by IWnet is a bit of a shortcoming true, but I seemingly NEVER have a problem just jumping on a playing a game. I am almost at Prestige (with no loser hacks to inflate my stats) and my kill vs death ratio is closing in on 2 to 1.

L4D 2 now talk about fucking pc gamers up the ass. Any moron who would buy the game, cough DLC that should have been for L4D has seriously hurt pc gamers telling developers, hey ya, I know that shit should have been for L4D but hey wtf, I got a few bucks kicking around and wouldn't mind playing the same game on the same exact engine all over again. L4D 2 is total crap and I'm glad I stuck to my original F U Valve view.
