Wishing you a Happy New Year with the hope that you will have many blessings in the year to come!
  • NVIDIA to Launch GeForce GTX 1060 with 5GB Memory - NVIDIA is allegedly preparing a new variant of GTX 1060 that is aimed at Internet cafes. This version of the card will feature slightly lower VRAM and a cut-down memory bus, while retaining the same number of cores as the 6GB variant. The GTX 1060 is an exclusive model for the Chinese market, where the popularity of Internet cafes is booming. These cards are to be sold in bigger quantities, hence no fancy packaging is to be expected (so in that regard, it would be similar to P106-100 mining series). Expreview has confirmed that GTX 1060 5GB will use 1280 CUDA cores. This should be enough for solid 1080p gaming at higher settings.
  • GPD Win 2 Handheld Launches April 2018, Runs GTA V - The second iteration of the GPD Win will arrive in the spring of 2018 with a bigger screen, faster memory and storage, and a more powerful processor than the original, letting you play popular games such as GTA V and Need for Speed: Rivals on the go. The one big negative we know of so far is the price. Whereas the original cost $400, the GPD Win 2 is expected to be $699. However, an Indiegogo campaign planned for Jan. 15 will offer it for $599 with the launch happening at some point in April.

  • Apple apologizes for slowing iPhone, drops battery prices - In a lengthy message posted on its site Thursday, the company gave an in-depth explanation for the controversial update. To make amends, Apple will temporarily drop the price of replacement batteries to $29 starting in late January. The price will go back up to the usual $79 in 2019. Customers are upset with the company over a software update that deliberately slowed down older phones in some situations to extend battery life. Some thought it was a ploy to get people to upgrade to new devices. A number of people have filed lawsuits over the feature and are seeking class action status. The feature will stay on phones, but Apple says an upcoming iOS update will " give users more visibility into the health of their iPhone's battery." It did not say if it will give them the ability to turn the feature off or on.
  • Apple Lowers Battery Replacement Cost to $29 Immediately - Apple made $29 replacement batteries available to owners of older iPhones effective starting today. The drop, announced earlier this week, was originally slated to go into effect in late January. "We expected to need more time to be ready, but we are happy to offer our customers the lower pricing right away," said Apple in a statement provided to Axios. "Initial supplies of some replacement batteries may be limited." Apple uses software to limit the performance of some older iPhones in order to prevent battery-related shutdowns. Replacing the original, aging battery with a new one resolves such issues and leads to better performance of the smartphone. The battery replacement service typically costs $79, but Apple has lowered the cost to $29. The program will run through December 2018 and targets the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, and SE.
  • Microsoft Says It's Time to Kill Off the Password - Microsoft's solution to the password? You. In what is probably a veiled attempt at drumming up interest for Windows Hello, its facial, fingerprint, and iris-scanning system, the company is touting the superiority of biometrics over strings of typed text for security.
  • The Pixelbook Is Being Used to Test Google's Fuchsia OS - New documentation pertaining to Fuschia suggests that Google’s upcoming OS, designed to run across a wide array of devices, will support higher-end laptops such as the Pixel, which has recently been listed as a "targeted" device. While the project is open source and subject to public inspection, nobody seems to know what it will really look like or how it will perform.
  • First Power-At-A-Distance Wireless Charging Technology Approved by  - Energous Corporation announced they have received FCC certification for power-at-a-distance charging technology. The new technology sends focused RF power to devices up to three feet away. This technology should be very handy for anyone using small wireless devices like earbuds, smart watches, wireless keyboards and mice, and other similar devices you hate to plug in or set on a pad. I can't wait for this to make it to market because the convience this type of charging offers is excellent
  • Garmin Vivofit 4 has a Color Display and 1-Year Battery Life - Garmin today announced the Vivofit 4, a new activity-tracking wearable device that sports an always-on color display and battery life up to one year. The wrist-mounted, waterproof device performs all of the functions of a digital watch, including timer, stopwatch, and alarms, while counting steps and encouraging the wearer to stay mobile and active.
  • Call of Duty Game Turns Deadly! - The Call of Duty gaming community also say the whole feud was over a mere $1.50 wager. Allegedly, a person behind the Twitter handle @SWAuTistic initiated the swatting in attempt to harrass [sic] a rival Call of Duty player with the Twitter handle @7aLeNT, who gave out the wrong address.
  • THE KING OF FIGHTERS: DESTINY - Episode 22 - Fighters have been released from the evil mindcontrol by breaking the generator. Kyo and Terry head to the bridge in order to put a period to this incident. The organiser, R finally appears in their way and now the story of the KOF goes to the end!
  • Mini will 3D Print You Custom Trim Pieces - Want your family name in the door sill plate? Done. Want the skyline of your home city engraved in the dash trim? No problem.
  • Channel Zero Season 3 Teaser - Black Mirror Season 4 is now on Netflix. The first episode was good, but not nearly as "dark" as I was expecting.
  • Hot Wheels in the Garden - The ultimate backyard Hot Wheels track is here. Cross the high wooden bridge, drop into a vertical loop, and duck under the garden fence for the roller coaster ride of a lifetime. At 141 feet long, the car takes 25 seconds to complete the track at an average speed of 3.8 miles per hour, which in 1:64 scale is 244 miles per hour. Filmed with the Sony NEX-VG30H and a GoPro Hero 5 Session.

Apple apologizes for slowing iPhone, drops battery prices

I sincerely hope that class-action lawsuit goes thru, they get their asses sued off and they will be required to remove that code.
What nonsense is 'I sell batteries for 1 year cheaper'?
These guys think they can get away with anything.

Microsoft Says It's Time to Kill Off the Password

Ok, it's official. The peeps at MS have not fucking clue what they are doing.
This will be an epic fail. Those biometrics are easily stolen and forged - and worse, they can't be changed...
Show me a system that claims that it differentiate identical twins and I'll show you how to break in (no point bothering with anything less).

NVIDIA to Launch GeForce GTX 1060 with 5GB Memory

Probably has more todo with providing a gpu to those Internet cafes for gamers at a price for these cafes can actually afford without driving costs for paying customers to absurd amount just to buy newer graphic cards for those cafe pc's to actually play modern fucking games. .. Because modern gpu prices are being over inflated by fucking retarded coin mining derpers.

The most the fucking pointless thing to explode in 2017 is alt coin mining with 1060,1070,1080 and amd r570 equivalent gpu's ...those idiots have totally ballooned prices and stock availability for modern gpu's.

Anyway will be interesting to see what Nvidia and Amd do with the next gen cards.. hardware crippled? or just ride the price wave until idiot society is all using electricity on mining stupid shitcoins? I can think of a dozen better uses for massive distributed computing projects... rendering someone homemade toy story movie ?searching for space aliens? seti@home? lol ... but bit/altcoin mining... is the fucking lowest and most pointless imo.

You know I have an original Samsung Galaxy phone, battery never changed and its running Oreo. Still no problems with it including battery and i game occasionally on it. Apple is a piece of shit and they should get charged for this crap. Intentionally fucking up peoples phones so they go buy new ones is wrong. Anyone who supports this company and buys their products are fucking idiots. Sorry but they are.
