- Lenovo IdeaPad
Yoga 13 Review: One Flexible Ultrabook - On the upside, Lenovo's IdeaPad Yoga 13 (+$1000) is surely thin
and lightweight. The satin-finished aluminum system casing is both
solid and elegant. The island-style keyboard is above average, the
massive touchpad is great, and the IPS-based touchscreen is fantastic.
The innovative hinges are sturdy enough to accommodate all four of the
Yoga 13's usage modes, making this one truly versatile mobile PC. It
runs cool and quiet, and the performance is more or less what we'd
expect to see for a system with these specifications. An empty
mSATA/min-PCIe port in this form factor are just icing on the cake,
right? Unfortunately, since the Yoga 13 isn't openly user-serviceable,
getting to these components isn't a job for the timid. And while
upgradable memory may seem like a bonus since most models in this size
class feature RAM soldered directly to the motherboard, due to the Yoga
13's closed nature, this also loses much of its relevance.
- Synology DS1812+ 8-bay NAS review - The Synology DS1812+ is a 8-bay NAS, and there are
many applicable disk configurations (JBOD / RAID-0 / RAID-1 / RAID-5 /
RAID-6). Most users looking for a balance between performance and
redundancy are going to choose RAID-5. Hence, we performed all our
expansion / rebuild duration testing as well as power consumption
recording with the unit configured in RAID-5 mode. The disks used for
benchmarking (Western Digital WD4000FYYZ) were also used in this
section. The table below presents the average power consumption of the
unit as well as time taken for various RAID-related activities.
- GALAXY GTX 780 SOC, GTX 770 2GB SOC White Edition - Galaxy
770/780, and many of their previous cards, cover a nice little
niche as I get many questions about white PCB graphics cards. More and
more people are starting to realize that the look of the back of your
graphics card is quite important if you are going for a really good
looking build - If white is your colour look no further
- World's 1st CPU Cooler With Active Noise Cancellation - This looks pretty interesting. I guess we'll have to
get one of these!
- Detailed Google Glass tear down reveals a TI chip and 570 mAh
battery - And finally someone found the cojones to crack open a
Google Glass like a nut. Everybody loves a teardown of a brand new
piece of gadget but the Google's eyewear put up quite a feisty battle.
Its hefty price tag and almost unbreakable shell changed many a minds
midway. But thanks to the super inquisitive minds it has been now
opened it to its bare bones. A Torx T5 screwdriver, some heating, a
little body strength and some permanent damage was all that was needed
to tear the Google Glass down.

at E3 2013.
- Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom packs a 16 MP camera with 10X optical
zoom - Samsung unveiled the Galaxy
S4 Active last week and today marks the unwrapping of the Galaxy S4
Zoom. Not exactly a stunner when it comes to looks it is something
between a S4 Mini and a Galaxy camera. Running on Android 4.2 it has a
16 megapixel sensor, 10X optical zoom, Xenon Flash, 4.3 inch SAMOLED
display supporting a resolution of (960×540 pixels), LTE and making all
of this run is a dual core 1.5 ghz processor.
- Samsung Galaxy S4 Is Pretty Rugged - Samsung has
posted a video on YouTube which shows the Galaxy S4 being punished
in a variety of ways and the device seems to be surviving everything.
Of course, they wouldn't have released the video if the S4s that were
tested didn't make it. As you will see in the video below, which is in
Korean with English subs, they are putting it through punishments such
as dropping it from a height, punching it, covering it with dust,
keeping it under water, giving it an electric shock, and even baking
it. The device is doing well against all those attacks.
- Apple has posted its iOS 7 overview video, highlights all
the - As rumoured, iOS 7 brings with it a far cleaner and flatter design
with heavily updated colours, icons and new features. The new lock
screen offers thin fonts, an animated wallpaper and the ability to
quickly swipe down to access Notification Center.
- How Do iOS 7 Features Compare to Android, WP8 and Blackberry? -
Some of these features are new to any mobile OS, while others have
existed in competing platforms for a while now. For those that are
curious about what iOS 7 introduced, and how they compare to features
found on existing operating systems, CNET has created a pretty awesome comparison chart
that tells you just that.
- Microsoft releases Office Mobile for iOS, available to 365
subscribers only - Following many months of speculation and even a
few leaked screens, Microsoft has finally launched a version of Office for
iOS. The suite will be offered as a free download, though before
you get too excited there are a couple of caveats: it's optimized for
the iPhone only and is limited to Office 365 subscribers.
- AT&T Teases Waterproof Phone - AT&T today posted a teaser
video on its YouTube channel that suggests it will soon release a
waterproof smartphone. The video depicts a device, which resembles the
Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, being dunked in water and accepting calls
while submerged. The video says that more details will become available
- Improve Your Social Skills By Talking To Your Computer - According
to MIT, talking

it will make you even more introverted and socially awkward. :-D
- France Disconnects First File-Sharer From the Internet - After
three years and millions of warning letters, the French three-strikes
anti-piracy law "Hadopi" has resulted in the first Internet
disconnection. The customer in question will be without Internet access
for two weeks and must
also pay a 600 euro fine. Quoting officials, PC Inpact reports that
the file-sharer was caught sharing one or two files and failed to
respond to earlier warnings. If no appeal is filed within 10 days the
file-sharer's Internet provider will move forward with the
disconnection. For 15 days the customer will be denied access to the
Internet, but the ISP must ensure that e-mail, instant messaging and
other VOIP services continue to work. The sentencing comes at a
peculiar time. Last month a nine-member panel recommended that the
Government scraps the Hadopi agency, the body that currently oversees
the graduated response system.
- How NSA spooks spaffed my DAD'S DATA ALL OVER THE WEB - Shock, horror, scandal! America's NSA secretly
took data from my website for its fiendish PRISM web-snooping project - and it ended up
blasted all over the internet! Top-secret slides detailing the massive electronic surveillance
programme were leaked last week by ex-CIA techie Edward Snowden. A close inspection of the
presentation reveals a terrible scandal missed by the entire mainstream
media: the project's weird logo is startlingly similar, if not an exact
copy, of my father's own work.
- Jet-powered Bike Gets Up to 50MPH - The idea of
a bike going 50mph isn't technically crazy - I mean, there are
motorcycles after all. But as you watch the bike in the video, it
clearly wasn't meant for this. This old bike's wheels basically go to
crap under the pressure of the jet-powered engine.
- 2014 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG revealed in video - I don't
have official details on the new S63 AMG yet, but I expect the company's
twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 to be found underhood, putting out
something like 550 horsepower in the base model. (Like the new E-Class,
an S model will likely be offered). The AMG Speedshift dual-clutch
transmission and all-wheel drive will likely be part of the S63 AMG

directing, Man Of Tai Chi. Now here comes the international trailer, full of
kicking, punching, death holds and Reeves himself snarling, 'Finish
him!' which is probably a personal dream of his… The man of Tai Chi in
question is young 'Tiger' Chen Lin Hu (Tiger Hu Chen) who spends his
days working as a courier. But by night he's a martial arts star,
having worked hard to become adept at the Ling Kong Tai Chi tradition.
Slowly rising up the standings in the prestigious Wulin Wang
championship, Tiger is approached by powerful Hong Kong businessman
Donaka Mark (Reeves) who runs a brutal underground fighting where
combatants clash without rules and wealthy patrons watch via private
