  • Steam ad confirms existence of Just Cause 4 - The fourth entry in the long-running Just Cause series was one of the many unannounced games that appeared on the Walmart Canada website last month. Now, a Steam ad promoting the game has been discovered by Kotaku. Although the advertisement for Just Cause 4 does include a pre-purchase now banner and an option to click for details, it seems the game isn't quite ready to be fully revealed. Clicking for extra details didn't take users to a Just Cause 4 store page; it just redirected them to Steam's front page. It also appears that the ad has now been removed.
  • Crackdown 3 has been delayed to 2019 - Crackdown is getting pushed back yet again, according to a new report. Sources familiar with Crackdown 3's plans have revealed to Kotaku that the game has been delayed to 2019. No updated release target was outlined in the report, though said sources indicated that Microsoft is trying to avoid the situation other troubled developments of its own first-party catalogue found themselves in – all of which have been cancelled. Scalebound, Fable Legends, and the Phantom Dust reboot all suffered from this, so Microsoft is hoping the delay will allow developers to make the best version possible.
  • First details leaked for Assassin's Creed Odyssey - It appears that the first details about the new Assassin's Creed game, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, have been leaked via Playstation Store. According to its description, in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey players will take control of their destiny and write their own epic odyssey as they journey to become a legendary Spartan hero. The game promises to let players experience incredible adventures in a world where every choice matters. Rejected by their family, players will have to embark on an adventure from outcast mercenary to legendary Spartan hero to uncover the truth about their past.Ubisoft will premiere the game’s first trailer during its E3 2018 press conference
  • Railway Empire - Mexico Rolls Out - Railway Empire - Mexico is now available for Windows and Linux on Steam, offering an expansion for Railway Empire that takes the transportation simulation south of the border.
  • New GUNDAM BREAKER PC Delay - BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America reveals a delay to the PC edition of New GUNDAM BREAKER, saying the brawler sequel will come to Steam later this summer while confirming the PlayStation 4 edition of the game is still to be released two weeks from today as planned. The announcement is short and to the point:
  • GTA San Andreas and two more Rockstar games come to Xbox One Backward Compatibility - Microsoft added three more games to the Xbox One Backward Compatibility list today, all of which are from Rockstar Games. The new additions are Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete, and Rockstar Table Tennis. The news comes about a month and a half after the Backward Compatibility list reached over 500 games, and since then, only a handful of titles have been added
  • Facebook launches 'Fb.gg' game streaming hub to take on Twitch - Facebook today launched Fb.gg, a streaming hub that makes discovering new gaming streams easier than ever. Aesthetically speaking, it looks a lot like Twitch's home page. Fb.gg users are given a small navigation menu to the left, where they can choose to either view the default active stream "grid" or search for streams by game. Some of the games included in Facebook's "Browse All Games" section include Fortnite, PUBG, DOTA 2, and Minecraft.
  • Ubisoft CEO: Game consoles are heading towards extinction - In an interview with Variety, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot stated that he believes that we might see one more generation of consoles before their inevitable demise.
  • IKEA Plans Custom Gaming Chairs - Quartz reports on plans for IKEA to bring bespoke gaming chairs aimed squarely at gamers, or at least at their butts. Word is they will us body-scanning and 3D printing to create individualized ergonomics. They hope to start producing these in 2020, so we may soon finally have an answer to the question of whether no two ass prints are alike. The chair is called the Ubik, and there's no word on how much simple assembly will be required.

Railway Empire

I tried this game a while ago and I thought is was fine.
But in the end, I got very bored with it really quick.
Railroad Tycoon (1990) could do all these things (obviously with larger pixels) yet somehow they managed to keep the game more interesting. As I recall, it had even more upgrades and trains back then.
So, I felt it's a very good attempt at a reskin, but it does not deliver.

Facebook

Seems like a last desperate attempt to keep people around before they jump ship?
With all the leaks and data theft EU will likely to shut quite a few of their services down and then they are nothing more than the other platforms that already do a far better job at social media.

Ubisoft CEO: Game consoles are heading towards extinction

The people at Ubi are one of the greediest idiots around - but in my response I shall ignore that fact.

Consoles always did, do and will do head towards extinction (same as PCs).
Yet they always make a comeback every x years.
As long as there is a demand for it and people to cash out those ridiculous prices, they will be around (same as PCs).

The things I don't understand about the console market are these:
- why buy hardware that cannot be upgraded?
- why buy games over and over again?
PCs you can upgrade in parts, and your can still run software on the same PC from 20 years back...
Consoles seems like a rich man's toy to me... (Which is fine, but why not donate that money to a better cause and buy a PC that can do so much more?)

you upgrade the console the same way you upgrade your phone, TV, etc. You buy a new, better one.

Csimbi(08:58 AM EDT - Jun,09 2018 )
Buying a new one is not an upgrade, lol

These are upgrades:
[list:daf118f39d]Buy case, use it, buy better one, sell old.
Buy PSU, use it, buy better one, sell old.
Buy mobo, use it, buy better one, sell old.
Buy GPU, use it, buy better one, sell old.
Buy CPU, use it, buy better one, sell old.
Buy RAM, use it, buy better one, sell old.
Buy HDD, use it, buy better one, sell old.
Buy SSD, use it, buy better one, sell old.
Buy mouse, use it, buy better one, sell old.
Buy keyboard, use it, buy better one, sell old.
Buy joystick, use it, buy better one, sell old.
Buy steering wheel, use it, buy better one, sell old.

I.e. swap out parts when you see fit and replace them as you see fit.
