Intel has issued a press release, claiming that it will release updates for more than 90 percent of its processor products introduced within the past five years. Moreover, the blue team has already issued updates for the majority of processor products introduced within the past five years. Intel also claimed that the performance impact for the average user is not significant.
Intel has already issued updates for the majority of processor products introduced within the past five years. By the end of next week, Intel expects to have issued updates for more than 90 percent of processor products introduced within the past five years. In addition, many operating system vendors, public cloud service providers, device manufacturers and others have indicated that they have already updated their products and services.”
Update: As Epic Games showcased, the CPU utilization of one of its gaming servers sky-rocketed from 25% to almost 60%. That’s a really big performance hit and it is something that may affect gamers worldwide. Weaker gaming servers may reach their peak due to this security fix, resulting in possible latency issues. So yeah, while the performance impact of this fix on a PC system may be relatively small for individual users, it can potentially lead to major gaming performance issues – especially for online games like Fortnite or PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – caused by the gaming servers.

seeing little to no performance impact.

Means jack shit. Give me data/details and let me be the judge of 'impact'.

What about processors over 5 years?
Is this their 'game' to force people into buying new ones?
Seems very much like that shit with Apple - that class action lawsuit seems to be coming closer and closer...

It goes all the way back to the original Pentium days apparently. The next couple of iterations of chips will likely also have the issue due to where they are in their product lifecycle..
