Who would have guessed it!? AMD will be serving up a 32-Core 64-Thread Threadripper in Q3 of this year.

Hardly surprising, but I am glad to see that they are at least three months ahead of Intel (Intel is 24 cores for Q4).

Did they disclose clock speeds?
That's more important to gamers than the number of cores.

3 GHz with turbo at 3,4 GHz
Apparently, this is not for gamers.
That 250W TDP seems quite a lot of heat to dissipate...
Overclocking will surely require a water cooling solution - you could heat a small flat with this ;-)

I would much rather take a 6core CPU at 10Ghz.
