Assassin''s Creed: Origins Requires 8-Thread CPU - tech
(hx) 05:06 PM EDT - Oct,29 2017 - Post a comment / read (6)
While four cores are usually sufficient for most games, Assassin’s Creed: Origins scales even on six cores. Tests performed by show that Intel’s 6-core, 12-thread Core i7-8700K, paired with an Asus GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Strix OC, delivers the best performance in the game.
The flagship Coffee Lake CPU is 19% faster than the quad-core i7-7700K in 1920 × 1080, and delivers 12% better frametimes. This is a much bigger difference between the two than we’ve observed in other games.

AMD hardware, however, doesn’t seem to perform well in Assassin’s Creed Origins. At 1080p, their flagship Ryzen 7 1800X featuring 8 cores and 16 threads is slower than the 8700K, but can keep up with the Kaby Lake chip.

CPUs with less than eight threads will struggle in the latest Assassin’s Creed game. The Core i5-7600K for instance, which still has four cores as the i7-7700K but doesn’t support hyper-threading, is a whopping 27% slower than its elder sibling. The chip just runs out of breadth when it comes to frametimes with 38% slower results.

POS engine as always...

Is this really about the PoS Engine, or is this about DX12 utilizing idle CPU cores for offloading some GPU?
For the record, I don't care, either way.

New denuvo 4.8 requires 4 threads to work properly LUL

So, the HW requirements are less for the cracked version. Great! :P
Wasn't this protected with the UBI Play store shite?

They can take their game and shove it up their arse.

Yeah lots of talk about Denuvo and some overlay that jointly are using crazy amounts of CPU power.

Screwing over every single person who buys the game, just so they can keep it unpirated for a few days or a week... sounds like really shitty priorities to me. No sale, that's for sure.
