CryENGINE 3 Teaser Video - movie
(hx) 08:58 PM EDT - Mar,23 2009 - Post a comment / read (2)
PC.IGN has got a sneak peek at Crytek's CryENGINE 3 trailer. According to Crytek, the trailer features both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 footage. The video is meant as a tech demo only, so the fact that it features nanosuit-clad soldiers from Crysis running around doesn't necessarily mean anything concrete. It could just be that Crytek recycled some of its existing assets. No titles have been officially announced that will be built on CryENGINE 3 as of yet.

It's so damn slow! <30fps, 720P and aliased. Some people really make me wonder. With all that technology, instead of moving to 60+fps games we are moving to 30-fps games! For the love of God what the hell is going on? Are people getting slower and slower, so gaming follows that trend?

Makes you wonder what hardware that demo was running on...

The capture itself sure was low-res. When will people learn that you can't show this kind of content in a 640x480 format (if that's even what it is) and expect people to be wow'd.

On a side note I tried playing crysis on a PC I made for my brother and just couldn't get into it. The weapons were so weak. I couldn't find a gun where you could pull off headshots.

Compare and contrast that with Killzone 2 and OMG the difference. With those weapons you feel unstoppable. The lightning gun blew me away!!

Anywho, crytek seems like a smart company, but they have some work to do as far as creating an engaging gameplay experience. Much much work...

Maybe they should just focus on their engines... oh wait :P
