Wildlife Park
(hx) 04:22 PM CET - Nov,10 2003

Since there's not much info about Wildlife Park, I've decided to write a very short review of this game. Wildlife Park is a simulation game which let you design and manage you own zoo. Similarly to Microsoft's Zoo Tycoon, in Wildlife Park you will have the challenge to manage animal environments all over the world with individual climate requirements. You run a zoo and build up a selection of animals for your paying visitors to appreciate. The happier the visitors are the higher prices they will be willing to pay. And it's important to employ the right amount of employees. Letting people walk around your park requires building ice cream stalls, information kiosks and visitors centre. In terms of micro-management, your animals require their every whim attended to before they are fully satisfied. The ground needs to be the right consistence, the food needs to be correct, the swimming pool needs to be large enough and the surrounding verdure appropriate.

Wildlife Park features 45 lovingly animated & realistically simulated mammals, reptiles, birds & sea animals, huge range of animal behaviour with individual socialization, births, ageing, aggression & trainability, free landscape design on various height levels with indigenous plants, bridges & waterfalls, ability to create your enclosures from scratch; place feeding devices, plants, various toys & climbing equipment and use qualified personnel to care for the animals & the park, from animal wardens & trainers. There are over 20 missions based in locations from around the world, from the British Isles to Alaska.

Although the game has everything Zoo Tycoon had, I didn't like this game much. Wildlife Park is somehow monotonic and humor-free, especially the micro-management in the game takes away any sense of fun or involvement. Sorry, I cannot recommend this game. If you want a good zoo sim, buy Zoo Tycoon.

Minimum system requirements: Pentium II / 450 MHz, 128MB RAM, 800MB HDD Space

snd: 3/5 - quite good
gfx: 2/5 - dated, animals look realistic but when you use the zoom function to get a closer look at your park, things turn extremely blocky, buildings has no animation
playability: 3/5 - Zoo Tycoon like, but worse, rough and unpolished, humour-free
genre: strategy/open-ended building sim
release: September 2003
developer: Novatrix
the game is similar to: Zoo Tycoon
publisher: Koch Media

I have the game and believe that it can be difficult at times but is rewarding
