Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is an action adventure game, based on J.K. Rowling's second book in the worldwide best-selling series. For those who didn't read the second book, here's part of The Chamber of Secrets' story. Ignoring Dobbyä the house-elf's grave warning that disaster will strike if he returns to Hogwarts, Harry embarks on his second year to find Dobby's predictions coming true! Harry soon finds himself entangled in a dark plot against his "Mudblood" classmates, as students keep turning up petrified! Could Draco Malfoyä be to blame, or is something even more malevolent at work? With the help of returning friends Hermione, Ron, Hagridä and Hedwigä, you go to classes like "Defence against the Dark Arts" where you learn spells that you need to make it in the dangerous times. It's only up to you to find out who, or more likely, what, is behind the ghastly attacks on students.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets features:

- unique characters like Moaning Myrtleä, shopping in Diagon Alleyä, and
exploring the convoluted corridors of Hogwarts
- interact with old friends like Hermione and Ron and new faces like Moaning
Myrtle and pompous Professor Lockhartt
- thrilling moments from the book such as the Whomping Willowä, the Dueling
Club and a confrontation in the Chamber of Secrets
- face-off against fantastic creatures like Aragog the spider and the
terrible basilisk
- various items -Wizard Cards, the Invisibility Cloak, wizard sweets, potion
ingredients, and broomsticks
- the Quidditch and other mini games
- simple and intuitive controls
- nine different spells that can be used in dueling
- many "secrets" waiting to be discovered (hidden treasure chests and
passages)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a linear adventure puzzle game that relies on cut scenes to move the plot along. Needless to say it's a game for children, and very very young children. There is no skill needed in playing, no challenges that are very difficult to beat. It could be suitable for kids aged 8 and up since I finished it in two days. I recommend this game to all Harry Potter fans, people who loved the Harry Potter movie and book, and Tomb Raider fans. You can try this playable demo (24MB).
Minimum system requirements: Intel Pentium II 300 MHz, 64 MB RAM, (128 MB for Win2k/XP), 3D card with 8 MB RAM, 450 MB HDD space.

Selling numbers and quality are not linked. main reason for good selling in this case is its Harry Potter, its not important if its good or bad, its another great way to get money out of a name. i didnt play this game, but without doubt, they could have put pacman a wizard hat on and sell it, and you would still get the same selling number. (although pacman IS a great game, but i think you get what i mean)
just cause something is popular doesnt mean its good quality (or bad). |

Reminds me a little of Alice and Tomb Raider. Yeah, cut-scenes interupt the game a little too much, but the game has FEELING. And it's **FAR** superior to the first game, IMHO. |

Good graphics, fairly smooth play, easy controls for a kid. What else could you ask for. And it even stays fairly close to the actual storyline. So really, people, stop putting down the game for being something that it isn't supposed to be. |

He had fun, but for $20, ( I got it on sale at least) I wish it had lasted longer. We actually liked the first game more. It took him a little longer to figure out. Good game for kids, just too easy! |
