Tsunami 2265
(hx) 12:09 PM CEST - Aug,06 2002

Tsunami 2265 is 3rd-person anime-inspired action adventure from Italian developers Prograph Research (Tony Tough makers). Although Tsunami 2265 is the first PC action game that features cell-shaded graphic graphic look, the result is big disapointment even for console fans. The characterless level design as well as the bland textures, clumsy controls&camera, make the game look dull and uninspired. Tsunami 2265 includes thirteen long levels splitted into two types, destructive shoot'em up levels, and an arcade levels. During the shoot 'em up levels, you pilot a mech from a third-person perspective. During the adventure levels, you control either of two main characters (Naoko Hikari and Neon Shima), leading them inside secret military bases held under tight surveillance. I didn't like to play this game, because the level design and action gameplay simply doesn't work well. I expected some good combat, weapons, puzzles, like in the others shooters, but Tsunami 2265 doesn't do any of this. Your mech has only two weapons, and damage is not location specific. No other weapons or weapon upgrades are available. All of the levels are very repetitive and boring -  find a key or switch, back to find what it opened. I don't recommend this game for any purpose. Sorry.

Download playable demo (56MB).

snd: 2/5 - not much, only quite good sound track and voice-acting
gfx: 2/5 - animé-inspired environment, repetitive, bland and characterless levels, cel shading visual technique, camera bugs, graphical glitches
playability: 2/5 - terrible, 13 long levels, A.I. issues, no multiplayer, clumsy controls, no joystick support, lack of different weapons, no savegame feature (instead you got 5 lives per level), inability to skip the training mission
genre: anime-inspired action adventure

good games (WC3, NWN...) = extensive reviews, bad games = very short reviews. Take it easy, but I have better games to play and review. The purpose of this review is to say - don't buy it.

Your quite right..boring, boring, so dull. With some of the quality games out there, this is a poor show in all areas. Shame.

Oh my god! This game attempts to pursue the worst game of the year award?! Not so easy , there is a blackhorse called Survivor

Worst game of the year? Maybe... But Bruce Lee for XB will give it a run for its money...

the creators of this game missed a key element in buisness. Creating a "GOOD" product for your money. They are lucky hx even bothered to tell people it was bad.
