Guilty Gear X

Guilty Gear X is visually stunning 2D fighter from Japanese developer Arc System Works developed originally for Sega Dreamcast. I've never played/seen Dreamcast version of Guilty Gear X, but now I'm sure it's definitely one of the best 2D fighting games ever made. I'm really happy they ported this baby on PC platform. Guilty Gear X features an impressive one-two punch fighting with great graphics and character designs (though the game running only at 640x480), excellent effects (they are simple but effective) and several well known game modes : Arcade, VS, Training, Survival, Recording. Guilty Gear X is pleasantly intuitive game, I really liked to play it - perfect relax from complicated PC games. Honestly I always hated console ports, but this one is pretty cool :) In addition, the game will run pretty fast on most PC with 3D Card so you don't need to have superstrong computer. I found Guilty
Gear X demo (33.7MB) on some Japanese website, so I have no idea if demo is English, however it could be playable.
snd: 3/5 - nice effects, hardrock soundtrack fits the game well
gfx: 3/5 -
great though only 640x480, fights are full of effects
playability: 4/5 -
addictive, pleasantly intuitive, nothing revolutionary, but the sword-play makes it stand out, easy controls (keyboard/pad), no multiplayer (max two players on the same computer), limited training mode and a survival mode, clumsy game menu (ESC always quit the game)

this game is not worth the cd it is on...perhaps dreamcast or ps user like this none3d 640x480 graphics, but in my opinion a lot of years ago they made better games then this one...even streetfighter on pc had the same graphics and moves...i´m absolutly disappointed about this review :o( |

I like 3D games, I think they are pretty cool but I think it does not hurt to sometimes have a game like this one.. |

hey good on the guys who made this game, for not going with the majority and building a massivly graphical game that sucks gameplaywise.
