Kohan: Ahriman’s Gift

Kohan: Ahriman’s Gift is a stand-alone prequel to TimeGate Studios’ fantasy RTS game, Kohan:
Immortal Sovereigns. First off, it's quite weird why they released this standalone expansion (which is incompatible in multiplayer games with first Kohan), instead to release it as a simple expansion to the original Kohan for less price. Now both games costs the same price $30. Well, it's business, but this price can be pretty disappointing for current Kohan owners. Kohan: Ahriman's Gift features three campaigns, two additional tutorial campaigns, 40 custom designed maps, over 90 units and 70 different heroes, over 100 spells and 75 technologies, 30 complex AI players, 7 game types (including Bloodbath and King of the Hill), an improved functional map editor with powerful random map generator and multiplayer support for up to 8 players over Internet or LAN. I would give it a much better score (80%) if I had never played the original...However Kohan: Ahriman’s Gift is still pretty cool game especially for new players - for those who don't own Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns.

| morpheus133 | posted - Jan, 15 2002 - 17:00 | | best rts out there right now. not as much new content as one might like if you have the original kohan, so the score they gave is accurate there i suppose. but if you DONT have the original kohan then it deserves a 100 score for all the inovations and great gameplay that the original had that this also does. |
