DroneZ is a platform/action cyberpunk game set in the cold depths of cyberspace. In the game, you control an intruder in virtual space who battles enemies and formidable bosses with the help of a hacker from the real world - the goal of the game is to intrude into enemy systems. When you destroys some enemy protection, the hackers can access some secret features and "donate" these to you. This features include new kinds of shields, secondary weapons and also special tools. The game features solid 3D environment full of protections represented by enemy characters and huge final bosses, never-before-seen freedom of aiming and intuitive&ergonomic control system. DroneZ graphic (nFiniteFX engine) are pretty cool and includes all GeForce 3 specific features, like high polycount featuring extremely smooth characters, objects and detail of the environment, four texture units for custom lighting effects combined with multitexturing and custom, glossy bump mapping w/texture shaders and special effects, Texture-Shaders for high quality per-pixel, per-light bump-mapping and many more. Although developers promised some multiplayer modes in DroneZ, I didn't find anything like that in my version, so maybe we should wait for a patch/add-on? We will see :) Anyway, Dronez is definitely an unique product with exciting gameplay, I really don't remember anything similar on PC. If you like classic demoscene and cyber-punk, this game will catch you. Certainly you will need good graphics card and at least 256MB RAM :) The playable demo doesn't exist but you can download DroneZmarK (62MB) - free next-generation benchmark / rolling demo foreshadowing DroneZ gameplay.
