The Sting!
(hx) 02:59 AM CEST - Aug,12 2001

Did you ever dream how to become a housebreaker? You didn't yet and you don't like jail? :) Well, it's no problem now! The Sting! is a simulation/RTS hybrid that provides something different from anything I have seen before on the PC. In The Sting! you play the role of Matt Tucker, an amateur burglar just released from jail, and having forgotten everything you used to know about burglary. No idea why you forgot everything, maybe chasers wiped your mind with scalpel Anyway seems the jail didn't reform you enough because you want to get back into "business" again :) Because you are kinda brainwashed, you must to relearn your dirty work as far as possible. The Sting! features big virtual town with complex and idiosyncratic life forms, 20 large places to burgle, such as a food factory, the grave digger's house, the freight terminal, the bank etc, 70 more buildings, some of which can be burgled, over 60 different persons, most of whom are ready to commit burglar, over 50 different get-away vehicles; trucks, sports cars, etc., and of course also security measures to overcome: alarm systems, CCTV, sensors, microphones and crap like that. How I said, your specific goal is to break into buildings and steal goodies without being caught. However you have to start from zero - it mean walking&walking around the town, trying to find jobs, accomplices and finally buildings which could be burgled. Each building that you want burgle has its own difficulties to overcome like alarm systems, sensors, cameras, security guards etc, so first you need to plan your attack using a video recorder-type interface. This interface allows you to record your plan and play it from start to finish, rewind and edit. The game uses an intuitive point&click interface, third-person perspective where you can rotate the camera around and zoom in and out and the characters perspective to see some details. The graphics and sound are good, some cartoony caricature-type characters looks funny. Honestly I wasn't very impressed with the gameplay - it's too much repetitive and also you must be pretty patient to complete all the burglaries, so some gamers will become frustrated. However The Sting! is at least an attempt to create some different game. I believe there are people who will like it though crime doesn't pay :) Download playable demo (42MB).

This game does suck! Everytime you try to rob something it has to be perfect every time, and if you do rob the house and you dont do it in a certain time the cops catch you which is so GAY! Make a fucking game where you kick peoples asses, security guards, police officers, who get in the way of the robbery now that would be fun! ALSO HAS ALOT OF BUGSSSSSS
