Similar to Counter-Strike, you select a character type/class and if you want to play for the good guys or the bad guys. Counterstrike has 4 generic skins per team while Legends of Might and Magic has 4 classes: a fighter good at physical weapons, a mage good at magic weapons, and a druid balanced between them. Instead of terrorists and counterterrorists you have a rather trite "good vs. evil". You can choose from 6 unique characters: Paladin (Good), Druid (Good), Sorceress (Good), Warrior (Evil), Heretic (Evil), Archer (Evil), Princess (NPC). The game also includes the ability to purchase items (upgraded weapons and armor). But the one notable difference is that Legends of Might and Magic features AI-controlled monsters that both teams will have to contend with. The monsters will guard objects and attack players on both teams.Combat in the game is incredibly easy, and any player of Counter-Strike  will be able to get into the game without any problem. Legends of Might and Magic tries to offer up something different for this popular series of games, well to combine fantasy with first-person shooter style isn't bad idea. I have had this game for some time now, and if there is one thing that makes me really MAD is that it locks up the computer if you die and in "freelook" mode go out of the "map" of misstake, then one MUST reboot it :( Also, the game sometimes just "drop-out" to the desktop and that happens almost too often for my likeing :( yes, it DROP-OUT, speak about REALLY BAD CODERS :( I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!! The LithTech 2.0 engine is really something that deserves it's own "comment": - It STINK!!! Even if I play in the "offline mode" it plays like I am on a modem connection, and the WORST thing is (apply in on-line games too) that one sometimes become a "free-frag" since the codes can program correct ladders/dores/corners, yes, obe get TOTALLY STUCK some times, and CAN'T MOVE in worst cases so one have litterly be "KILLED" to get free! I HATE THAT BUG, DIE DIE DIE!!!!!!! :( Okay, the game is otherwise a cool game with a cool teme, BUT, if possible, avoid this turkey and buy a better game, it's not even worth to burn on a CD if you ask me!!! damn!!! :( CU! hx posted - Jul, 05 2001 - 15:40 I had some troubles with this game too. Now, it's less problems to run the game on a AMD than Intel, I don't know why, but of course I have everything 100% up-to-date on my computers inkl. CD-Burners :) Still... The game HAVE very good things about it, and THATS what make me sooooooo MAD when it don't run the entire line out, instead it slacks down until it drops doqwn like a rotten tomatoo sorry to say! The RPG action idea is very cool and I hope that a future patch will improve things... Hey, I have one of the FIRSt game this TEAM of programmers did do, and it's called Kings Bounty, it's so old BUT good and works in Win95/98/ME so if u write me a line I can send it to you since i doybt it's copyrighted after all thise years :))) Zeeya posted - Jul, 06 2001 - 19:40 Well this game has nothing orginal. First its a cheat rip off of HERTIC released a couple years ago. Second it does not WORK WELL on LINUX AND WINDOWS. which means it only playable at night between 22:00-24:00 if you don't have a fast internet connect don't buy it. Some lag even on my new fast system here. FINALLY i ended up using the game to hold up my desk cause the leg is broken.
