Project IGI
(hx) 12:55 AM CET - Dec,15 2000

Project IGI is 1st-person stealth/thinker shooter that stresses cunning and covertness over firepower. In the game you are Dave Llewelyn Jones, an ex-SAS member now working as a freelance operative for both the American and British governments. You have been given an assignment that will carry you throughout Eastern Europe and into a fortified Russian base with one objective: stop a homicidal Russian colonel bent on turning Europe into a radioactive wasteland. Certainly you can use the latest espionage equipment and weapons (HK M5, AK-47, M16, UZI, Glock 17, Colt Anaconda, Desert Eagle) to get the job done without detection. Project IGI features abilities that include stealing, computer access, sabotage and reconnaissance, computer-controlled enemies that use actual militaristic tactics, air assaults that can be called through a communication PDA, equipment that includes latest espionage gear, assault weapons to disable surveillance, bomb shelters, armored carriers and gunships. If you like Hidden&Dangerous the game will probably very good playable for you, but I think this game is too hard, most gamers has desperate tried to find some cheats. (There's nothing worse than spending more than hour getting to a tricky point of a level where you continually die and then start the game from begin - that sucks) The game graphics aren't bad, but disappointingly enemy soldiers tend to die the same way each time, no matter where you hit them and all the barracks and warehouses are virtually identical in every mission - it's pity...SoF rules!

snd: 3/5 - Realistic sound effects (footsteps crunching on snow, rainfall on buildings, breaking glass etc)
gfx: 3/5 - Quite Good, but too much machine-made
playability: 2/5 - Frustrating, too much hard, no savegame option
genre: 1st-person stealth/thinker shooter
release: december 2000
developer: Innerloop Studios
publisher: Eidos Interactive
