Civilization II: The Test of Time
(cube) 07:55 PM EDT - Aug,04 1999

The Hasbro Interactive decided to make more bucks on a release of the old turn-based strategy hit from few years ago, Civilization II. Actually already Civlization II didn't bring any basically new look onto turn-based strategy gaming, and only added isometric 3D look into Cilization engine. In `Civilization II: The Test of Time` you'll find old (even if good) Civilization II with two new worlds (science fiction and fantasy-themed), incredibly ugly graphics, and multi-player support. The attempt to make more fun with parallel worlds (something like more game-play etages) between which you can move your units is awkward.

snd: 2/5 - simply poor, little resampled sound from old Civ II release
gfx: 2/5 - the graphics is bad, the attempt to improve original Civ II gfx sets ended in such chaotic and overpainted graphics, that you can hardly recognize any unit on the screen
playability: 2/5 - not worth of spending your earned money
genre: turn based strategy
platform: Win
developer: Hasbro / Microprose
the game is similar to: Civilization
publisher: Civilization II: TOT
