Call To Power II
(hx) 09:52 PM CET - Nov,24 2000

Call To Power II is a turn-based strategy game where you take control of a certain civilization and lead them from the 4000 BC to 2300 AD, a time period that is much longer then previous Civilization games (it's 6,300 years of history!). In the game you are able to command your people by military, economic, scientific and cultural decisions and manage the growth of your cities, explore new land, and exploit the world's resources as you contend for power. Call to Power 2 also includes built-in scenarios allows you to relive some of the world's greatest battles (scenario editor is included), a completely new diplomatic model that allows you to offer proposals and negotiate counter-proposals with other empires and new management features allows you to control your empire the way that you want. This new sequel offers new government, trade, and diplomatic options, but most of the control and menus are the same as before, only lots of effort has gone into minimizing the interface. Also the combat system has been improved, with the main focus on unit balance. With this as the aim, the different types of units have been split up into classes, and as such certain classes will easily dismiss of others and vice versa. I'm quite sure that fans of this genre will like this new title, though for me are these turn-based games pain is ass :)
