The game features more than 50 detailed sport utilities and trucks to drive from manufacturers such as Lexas, Toyota, GMC, Ford, Nissan, Chevrolet, Dodge, and Mitsubishi, 16 large and interactive courses, no set paths so drivers can take shortcuts, possibility to download new tracks for extended gameplay, variety of different driving conditions, such as rain, snow and nighttime. You can choose from 4 game modes - Quick Race, Time Attack, Career or Multiplayer. In Career mode you can customize your vehicles using cash earned in races. You start out with approximately $30,000 to purchase a stock sport utility vehicle, in which you must acquire enough money to upgrade your unmodified vehicle with a plenty of racing modifications that are separated into categories based on the vehicle components that are replaced/modified, such as Appearance, Engine, Suspension, Drivetrain, Chassis, Electronics, Tires, Brakes, and Lights. 4x4 Evolution is probably one of the best looking racing games on the market. The vehicles are highly detailed with beautiful textures and modeling (each model has around 5000 polygons) , and change models depending on what modifications have been applied during the Career Mode. The off-road tracks are absolutely imposing, with a wide variety of bright. Well, 4x4 Evolution looks to be rather arcade racing adventure then an authentic off-road simulation with a realistic physics system. Better to try demo (33MB) before you will hurry to buy this baby.
