KISS: Psycho Circus - The Nightmare Child
(hx) 11:53 PM CEST - Jul,19 2000

The game's back story is based on the KISS : Psycho Circus comic book series, created by Todd McFarlane and inspired by the heavy metal band - KISS, so it's full of heavy mysticism and action. The unborn Nightmare Child is threatening the universe with circus freaks and monsters, and it's up to the player to defeat him. The game starts in a night club where your band was supposed to be playing a gig, but unfortunately the world has come to an end, and a fatty Mystic Meg (mysterious gypsy fortune teller) has decided that it is up to you to save everyone from the apocalypse. Holly smokes! :) In game you will battle your way through 4 different realms (earth, water, fire and air) before reaching the bizarre supernatural circus of the title. By collecting the band members' accoutrements , you assume their looks and powers instead of rebuilding the band members themselves. For example, when you acquire a certain pair of boots and a tongue, you will look like the master of fire, Gene Simmons ,that sounds kewl isn't? The game is based on improved LithTech v1.5 engine ( essentially the same engine which was used by Monolith in Blood II), so you may not get the glitz and glamour that you might see in Unreal or Quake 3, but the graphics serve the game well. The designers have implemented Microsofts DirectMusic in the game, which serves to bring the tempo of the music up to match the action on screen. Apparently KISS: Psycho Circus - The Nightmare Child is dedicated for the hardcore 3D shooter fans and surely for KISS fans.
