Dark Reign 2 is an impressive 3D strategy game looks to be similar to the Battlezone II (which was developed by the same company - Pandemic Studios).DR2 is actually a prequel to Dark Reign, and it takes place many years before the events chronicled in the first game. In DR2 the Freedom Guard and the Imperium aren't even born yet, and the Shadowhand won't rise for another 150 years. The 3D engine allows a full rotating, zooming, and scrolling the camera and renders the world and units in full 3D. The explosions and special effects are very nice, and the game shows no signs of slowing down even when plenty of units are stuffed onto a screen at once. DR2 is looking very impressive. If you own the recommended hardware (GE Force 2), the game runs in some impressively high resolutions (like 1280 x 1024)
