And they laughed in Microsoft's face saying "xbox360 is inferior to ps3" while having absolutely no ready consoles with no ready games. I guess xbox360 will have second wave projects released and looking marvelous until Sony releases ps3.
What's your opinion? |

The XBox360 release list was nothing to write home about...besides it hardly hit the ground running did it? A faulty power supply and scratching DVDs because the laser carrier wasn't manufactured properly is NOT a good start.
I'm glad i held off buying it, i still have the original XBox and plenty of titles to play on it -it's not *just* about graphics.
Just like Oblivion or OFP2 i don't care how long it (the PS3) takes to come out, as long as the time taken is used for a marked improvement.
The big moment will be how the XBox360 compares to another years developement cycle for the PS3 and what it's line up is.
The japanese are very original when it comes to gameplay, something the US isn't reknowned for -just go back to the heady days of the Megadrive (Genesis) and SNES to find games that are still played today. |

First off, the reason that DVDs are getting scratched in the Xbox 360 is because morons are moving their XB360's from the vertical to the horizontal position and vice versa when the discs are spinning, causing the dvds to scratch. The power source is a problem, but if it was in the Xbox360, the console would be big, which we complained about, so blame yourself for that problem. The overheating issue is easy to fix, just dont put it in an enclosed area where it will overheat, and make sure it has good airflow around it. And besides, all gaming consoles have problems when they first come out, thats why you wait for the company to fix it. |

The problems could have been easily avoided when thinking about it logically.
A company like Microsoft can't afford to make these kind of mistakes, especially with such competition at hand, what on earth were the testers doing when trying out the console before release date? playing with their XBOX 360's in a fridge?
I'm not an XBOX hater, but for the kind of money I'm going to be spending, the PS3 has better connectivity and a disc drive better suited for next generation demands.
I might try and pick up a second hand XBOX 1 sometime though, purely because I want to play Unreal Championship 2 and Munches Oddysee |

Not exactly rocket science; but the power supply problem was caused by putting it on a carpet, or similar material, and it building up heat beneath it causing the XBox360 to crash (or threaten to burn the house down).
There's US gamers (lol) already taken out a law suit against MS rgarding it 'being faulty and not fit for it's intended purpose'
Put this into perspective; MS are HUGE and a monopoly. If car manufacturers churned out serious *BASIC* faults such as what MS have done, there would be hell to pay!
We're talking about consoles played not just by adults but by kids.
Anybody knows how destructive and testing kids can be, if MS never expected their consoles to be moved whilst playing games, then they should have provided a bolting down kit!
So on that note how come portable CD players manufactured by Sony et al can be worn whilst jogging etc with **NO** damage to said disc and have so for decades??......the disc is technology is no difference in that it has a built-in anti-skip so that it streams data into memory AND it doesn't impinge the laser into the disc!!!
The XBox just streams of the disc also, but provides no clearence from the laser carrier -that is the incompetent problem that MS failed to address. |

Sure that'd be fine if you wanted to wait an hour between levels. Attach a CD to a powerdrill and spin it up and watch what happens. They're flexible and when they're spinning really fast so that you can get the data off in a reasonable amount of time moving the drive is going to cause problems, it doesn't matter whose console it is. Its simply the nature of the media used, even the platters in HDD do this very slightly which is why the platters in 10K/15K rpm drives aren't as big. |

But you do realize that when the PS2 and Xbox 1 came out, they had problems similiar to this, and they were fixed.
Your also missing the point: Microsoft has no competition as of now. The fact that Sony hasnt showed almost anything at all about the PS3 shows that they are far from ready, and Nintendo, well, ill leave that one alone.
Plus, Sony will have problems with the PS3 on launch day guaranteed. Just take a look at the controller. |

The fact that Microsoft appear to have competition in the public eye against the PS3 shows how much influence Sony has over the gaming population.
I haven't personally used the controller, but actually favor the design, however if it plays well, then the simple 'how it looks' opinion is irrelevant.
Knowing Sony, because they've had a chance to observe the XBOX 360 and its mistakes, they are going to try their hardest to make as clean a launch as possible.
Well, I have my fingers crossed |

Come on. Sony are waiting for Nintendo to give up the goods on Revolution. |

you base that on what? looking at xbox/ps2, the xbox clearly had better connectivity. after reading both sony and MS's ps3/xbox360 online strategies, its sounding like the last generation all over again, only xbox live got better while sony is still leaving it entirely up to the developers. |
